The owner Melissa and Kaylan made the entire experience a delight. The two of them made sure we got all of our treats in a timely manner and treated us with such care. The sweets themselves were absolutely delicious. The fruity pebble cupcake particularly was the perfect amount of sweet, moist, and airy. If you’re in the neighborhood, I’d definitely recommend you stop by!“

This place pleasantly surprised me – their tacos were delicious and very well-made. I ordered shrimp, veggie and barbacoa with guacamole as an extra. “Tacos Comal is following what every taco spot in Ny is trying to do; and that is to mimic the ever popular Tijuana style taco of course originating from its name sake and an ever popular option in California. And just like these taqueria in NY that try to mimic the look is there but the flavor cannot seem to get it right. These tacos are 3.5, although I cannot give it in my review it’s not deserving a 4 but mediocre is not by any measure and definitely does not deserve a 3. It falls in a 3.5 category. It’s not that the flavor is bad, it’s more that I don’t taste the authenticity. The salsas were weak and the biggest saving grace of this taco spot is its tortillas, which are definitely delicious.

If you’re looking for a good New York taco this is your spot! If you’re looking for an authentic Mexico or California taco they are to be found elsewhere.“

“It was an emotional rollercoaster. Post bar, in need of sustenance — hot dog was the answer. Waited in line for what seemed to be a Fortnite, and then pure bliss once my savior began putting together the thing that had Greek scholars debating for centuries.

“I have been a fan and patron of Calle Ocho since it was on Columbus Avenue. The food remains delicious and the staff is stellar! I love everything on the menu but my faves are the arepa and shrimp appetizers along with the ropa vieja and salmon entrees. The drinks are fantastic too! “Just had a killer al pastor burrito from this place, $10. Loaded with rice, beans, onions, cilantro, a chipotle crema, a touch of hot sauce, and very good al pastor. Could have also added lettuce and tomatoes but I don't know why that's even an option in a burrito. Blasphemy! Without it, this was a pretty magical burrito, wrapped up nicely for my commute. A relatively inexpensive, filling, and delicious lunch in a very expensive area.“
