Maria and her team went above and beyond in service and food quality. We ordered the mini empanadas and the mini puffs. Everyone loved them! “This little Colombian spot is a hidden gem! Their hotdogs are next level – packed with flavor, loaded with toppings, and super fresh. You can tell they put a lot of love into making them. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the vibe feels authentic and welcoming. If you’re craving a Colombian-style hotdog with all the fixings, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend!“

“We went out for dinner tonight at S-Meat & Hueso in Astoria, and as always, the experience was spectacular. As soon as we arrived, our server introduced themselves and was extremely attentive throughout the entire night. This time we tried the Premium All-You-Can-Eat option, and it was amazing—the quality of the meat is excellent. It's also great for kids; my son had the chicken wings and loved them. To top it all off, we enjoyed some ice-cold beers that were absolutely perfect.

“One of my favorite places for Colombian food. The hamburger was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. The staff provide excellent service and really pay attention to making sure you’re enjoying your visit. Whenever you need anything, they’re always happy to help and respond with kindness. Definitely a place I enjoy coming back to.“

“Stopped by Sabor de Colombia after hearing a lot of local buzz about their empanadas, though I ended up trying a few other items on this visit.

The highlight was definitely the iced coffee—it was absolutely on point and hit the spot. However, the bakery side was a bit of a mixed bag. I ordered a Mojicón with guava paste, but unfortunately, it just didn't taste fresh. I also tried a piece of baked bread, which was sadly lacking in flavor and not very tasty.

Since the locals swear by their empanadas, I'd definitely give them another chance to try those next time. For now, it’s a great stop for a caffeine fix, but the baked goods were a bit of a miss for me.“

“Great food and margaritas. We got the tuna ceviche and fish tacos to start. Both were really delicious. I’m not a vegan but the kale enchiladas looked interesting so I ordered them and my partner got the skirt steak. Everything was amazing and you can tell the dishes are made with high quality ingredients. We had the tres leches and flan for dessert. Both were super tasty and unique. The tres leches was made with saffron and flan had peaches and basil. Delicious meal! Palenque is a great gem in the neighborhood.“

“I like this place. We had brunch and the food tasted really good. Baked Chix w/ lemon, awesome. Juicy, moist and tasty. The rice and beans w/chicharones, yum. Not into sweets but the flan w/caramel just hit the spot, it was sweet but not too sweet. The ladies, servers, was very nice and attentive. The ambience, upgraded industrial columbian resto, great.“

“This place was an amazing find right before going to a show at the Knockdown Center. We had 2 Chicken Fajitas and some Chicharrones. We did not expect to finish the whole meal but it was so tasty that we had to. The service was great and we got a little complimentary shot of liquor mid meal. Great food, great prices and fun atmosphere. Would definitely come back if I was in the area.“

“On Sunday we visited the Burger Temple in Weehawken, we tried the sancocho and the steaks. The sancocho was amazing and the juices too. We went with my whole family and enjoyed a very pleasant day. My sister had the milk maracuya and loved it. Chicken empanadas were a bit salty but the sauce helped.“

This new spot has the same flavor and consistency that they offered at the woodside location, and I knew as soon as the grand opening happened the other Colombian spots in the area would cease to exist. Highly recommend the lemon chicken and the bandeja paisa. One thing I will say though for this location, is that they have to work on the service a bit. The new waitresses seem a bit slow and lost at times, but the food always makes up for it. Cheers!“

“When my husband and I lived locally this was our go to spot to a bite to eat. Now we live a bit further out so we aren't there as frequently and we are happy to say the food is still just as good. The workers are very nice and cordial and the food still flavorful. I love the loaded hot dog with French fries! Their natural juices are delicious and their cholado with guanabana is a refreshing treat after a meal. They also sell Colombian snacks and beverages.“

Everything was very yummy, and the service was exceptional given there was only one server and one bartender on a Friday night. I took one star off only because there was no AC and I was eaten alive by mosquitos.“
