“Stopped by Sabor de Colombia after hearing a lot of local buzz about their empanadas, though I ended up trying a few other items on this visit.

The highlight was definitely the iced coffee—it was absolutely on point and hit the spot. However, the bakery side was a bit of a mixed bag. I ordered a Mojicón with guava paste, but unfortunately, it just didn't taste fresh. I also tried a piece of baked bread, which was sadly lacking in flavor and not very tasty.

Since the locals swear by their empanadas, I'd definitely give them another chance to try those next time. For now, it’s a great stop for a caffeine fix, but the baked goods were a bit of a miss for me.“

“Great food and margaritas. We got the tuna ceviche and fish tacos to start. Both were really delicious. I’m not a vegan but the kale enchiladas looked interesting so I ordered them and my partner got the skirt steak. Everything was amazing and you can tell the dishes are made with high quality ingredients. We had the tres leches and flan for dessert. Both were super tasty and unique. The tres leches was made with saffron and flan had peaches and basil. Delicious meal! Palenque is a great gem in the neighborhood.“

“I had a lot of fun. I ordered the caesar salad, amongst other things. It’s served with a spoon, which makes you go “Hm what is the spoon for?” It made for a fun little challenge at first (granted, I grazed and took about 2 hours to finish my meal) but once you get the hang of it, it’s like oh wow. Dressing was the standout; unique and memorable. Definitely one of the most interesting Caesar salads I’ve had. I had fun“

“One of the few authentic Colombian bakeries in Bushwick Brooklyn. As the area slowly changes, this Colombian staple keeps going strong. Coffee is super rich and the empanadas has me returning every time. I recommend if you're ever in the Bushwick area!“
