“Essen is a pick your own deli type of eatery. I've been here several times for lunch and they have a wide variety of food. All very good. I am a regular for breakfast, they have a fantastic assortment and my favorite is the oatmeal bar, they have several different varieties of oatmeal and toppings. My favorite is the oatmeal with coconut milk, brown sugar and cinnamon and fruit. You make it yourself so you can perfect it!“

“Great food and plenty of variety. They have an awesome buffet that changes from breakfast to lunch. Their are made to order options as well. It's a little pricey, but you are in Manhattan. Our group ate here the entire weekend we were here. They also have bakery items. To go or sit down option. I would definitely recommend if you are staying in the Time Square area.“

John Jay Dining Hall Buffet • $
519 W 114th St, New York

“The food was fantastic and for VERY affordable prices (for non- students such as perspectives too!) They were very nice there and the cashier guided me to all my needs. They supply incredible Star K kosher food as well! Sadly even though the hall was packed it seemed as if everyone were very isolated from one another, like everyone tried to be alone.“

I had the oatmeal today and there were lot of various milk options ie whole, skim, water) and toppings- raisins, brown sugar. Same with coffee- various flavors, cream/milk options. Plus the food bar has tons of breakfast and lunch options in the morning.“

6B Buffet • $
60 E 42nd St, New York

“I have eaten here before and was satisfied, perhaps I thought it was a little expensive. I stopped by the other day and tried the buffet. I had a small piece of cod in a miso glaze sauce that was freaking Dynamite. I also tried a small piece of soul or flounder franchise and it was delicious. Had some bock Choy and a few pieces of sesame chicken. I was absolutely amazed with the quality of the fish and the flavors of the food. It's completely obvious the food was made by a professional chef and not some deli guy. It was as good as any expensive restaurant that i have had. Actually excited to go back on Monday.“

Ferris Booth Commons Buffet •
Alfred Lerner Hall, 2920 Broadway, New York

“Ferris Forever, out of all the dining halls on campus this is a solid choice. Although there are places like Brownies Cafe which serve fantastic sandwiches or the food trucks along Broadway, Ferris is an undergrad staple (esp since you can take food out on the disposable plates and take cups, bananas, and other things on the dl). Staff is always nice; food is good and all you can eat.“

The heights cafe Buffet • $$
177 Fort Washington Avenue, New York

“Hidden on the second floor of the Milestein hospital building this cafeteria is open for everyone. While it is not open around the clock like the better known coffee giant on the ground floor, this place offers a large variety of foods and drinks at a reasonable price. Baked goods, pizza, sushi, salads, sandwiches, coffee and more. Grab and go, sit at the few scattered tables on the second floor or outside in the green courtyard across the street. Definitely a refreshing option for visitors and clients of this huge healthcare complex.“

The Theater Buffet Buffet •
305 W 46th St, New York

“Very nice buffet for the price. Maybe could use a little more variety, but for the price it's pretty good. You get unlimited water, but the drinks are not included with the buffet price. They have lobster ravioli, fresh lamb, chicken and fish. Surprisingly the steak is the weakest of all the options, it was overcooked.Overall it's a nice place to sit and eat. The wait service is very good. They clean the plates and bring water at a steady pace.“
