Tha Phraya Reviews
Dining at Tha Phraya was a pleasant experience. The ambience of the restaurant and the service was great. The food was delicious with the right amount of spice levels for someone who liked spicy food. The restaurant filled up pretty quickly on a Saturday evening, so reservations are always a good idea. I liked that we didn't feel rushed to finish our meal.
Nice environment and service! We ordered shrimp karee and crab fried rice lava. Shrimp karee was very flavorful and we loved it! But crab fried rice lava did not our expectation since it looked so good on the menu - the fried rice was tame。
The service was great, and all the food tasted really good. The only downside is that the place gets very crowded, so it can feel a bit cramped and noisy. I definitely recommend making a reservation. They give you a 90-minute dining time, and if you walk in without a reservation, you may have to wait anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.

Tha Phraya, located in UES NYC, offers incredible Thai food that is a foundation of happiness. Specializing in summer specials and specialty entrees, highlights include goong karee, chive dumpling, caramelized duck over noodles, pad Thai, and papaya salad. The crab lava fried rice and whole branzino are must-try dishes. The restaurant features a cheerful atmosphere with festive décor, making it a great spot for a memorable meal. The food is delicious, with dishes like Tom Kha Pla Tod, a creamy coconut soup with fried branzino, and Kaeng Phed Ped Yang, a flavorful red curry with roasted duck breast, cherry tomatoes, and Thai basil. Stir-fried braised beef with basil and chili over rice, topped with a perfectly fried egg, is also highly praised. Service is attentive, and the portions are good-sized, with the addition of jumbo shrimp in pad Thai and the green sauce with crab lava fried rice adding special touches. Customers enjoy quick service and flavorful dishes like crab fried rice and pork cheeks served with Thai chili slices and ginger, which are perfect appetizers. The restaurant is known for accommodating requests and delivering food quickly, often within 15 minutes. Desserts like mango sticky rice and specialty cocktails such as the Pandan are available, adding to the overall experience. Overall, Tha Phraya provides a delightful dining experience where passion and excellence meet, leaving customers eager to return and explore more of the menu.
