I’m from this area and moved to Miami, which has no Szechuan Chinese. On a trip back to NYC, we went to China River based on location and reviews and it was TERRIFIC. If you are from NY or North Jersey, you know what to expect — spicy shredded beef, scallion pancakes, even delish basics like chicken and broccoli. Everything was exactly as it should be. We went back a second time before heading to JFK for the flight back to Florida.
