“Tasty dim sum, a compromise towards flavor and price over ambiance and excellence. Everything was well prepared, and had a good flavor; yet nothing was outstanding. The self service ordering system is convenient, and the pictures are useful. It loses some of the charm of push carts and nagging waiters. The ambiance is sterile and the sitting seating space is of average comfort“

“Service was much faster than I expected, but the food was even better. The pickled okra was delightful, just the right amount of crunch with plenty of garlic, chili's, and green onion. The changing chicken was dry fried with tons of chilies that dish is all protein, no brakes. Save room for the rice wine soup. I know it sounds odd, but was a great end to the meal. Cocktails are also great, but be sure to slow down and enjoy them!“

“Found this late night gem after seeing Sweeny Todd at the theatre.Unfortunately, the kitchen was going to be closed in half an hour, so we only ordered the House Chicken Fried Rice, Shrimp Dumplings, and Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs. My only complaint is I wished we ordered more before the kitchen closed; it was all delicious!! ??The service was quick. Even the Jasmine tea served had a delicious flavour. We'll have to come back here the next time in NYC.“

“Higly recommend for hong kong cuisine in midtown. I had the duck noodle soup. Soup base and noodles were good. The duck was okay so I probably try some other protein instead next time. They have hk style milk tea which really made me happy. The portuguese tart flaky pastry crust and the filling was really good.“

“Omg Yelp revival?? Came here with a group of 5 after Spicy Moon rejected us and it was truly one of the best meals I've eaten this year in NYC :,) Service was so welcoming and the ambiance perfect as well (not too loud like the majority of other restaurants cough cough spicy moon cough cough and super pretty plates and bowls and nice jazz playing in the background) (jk we love spicy moon! they are rightfully busy) I know this review is off brand so will flesh this out with more words later ^^“

“It’s a great place for a quick grab and go or even just sit down and eat. Very casual you order first then find your seating. We got shu mai which was delicious, spicy mushroom dumping was not my favorite but my partner loved it, Shanghai pork dumplings were juicy, the BBQ pork roast was absolutely diviiiine a must try and the spicy cucumbers was just a nice refresher on top of everything. My partner and I were not disappointed!“

“This was recommended by Future Canoe YouTube channel. Takeout only. I had a pineapple pork bun. Delicious! Taste similar to what I had in Singapore. I also ordered the shiumai (pork dumplings), the best shiumai I've ever had. Big pieces and full of meat. I would come back for sure. Because it's takeout only, it's quite hard to eat outside the restaurant but so worth it. Service was quick even though there's a line.“

“Excellent stop for traditional hot pot or sushi! For $40 we had unlimited sushi and hot pot selections. The servers were very helpful, and the quality of everything was excellent. I’ve had hot pot style meals in Japan and this was just as good!“

“I gave this an energetic for noise because we were making all the noise. Good time had by group of long time friends enjoying an amazing dim sum lunch. Service was friendly, food was above average, menu was a bit smaller than most Chinatown dim sum menus but no one was lacking for something to eat. A delicious fun time had by all. We will be back.“

“We had a wonderful event at For U, the food is absolutely delicious, I keep thinking about the cucumber salad it’s so crunchy and tastes so good, the sesame noodles are flavorful and so good, delicate and delicious version of that dish, the best I have ever had. And the Peking duck is divine. It’s a wonderful place for a party, they work with you to make it really special. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the space is warm and beautiful. We had a wonderful time and will go back for dinner very soon.Dietary restrictions: Our event served vegan and vegetarian options as well as standard fare“

“This restaurant tool me by surprise. It is not like a typical restaurant around China town. The space was modern very clean airy and tables were spaced apart. The young staffs were friendly and service was quick. The chang fens were not like traditional chang fens. It had the freshly made thin rice paper filled with lots of fillings. The portion was generous. The congee was served in a huge bowl and tasty. The Hong Kong milk tea was strong and authentic. We loved food and service.“

“The best place for reunions and chitchat in New York. They have plenty of reservations and it’s located in Chelsea, New York — close to everywhere.Loved my food and the dining experience there. Would recommend it if you want to catch up with friends and find an easy place to talk for hours!“

“I’m almost confused as to why there is such an authentic Cantonese spot that opened up in this location. Servers are all Cantonese. It’s as if they pulled the staff and the entire restaurant and just opened it on the uws. With that said, servers will be yelling to each other ? Been here twice now. Love the clay pot rice. And also the dining atmosphere is very nice, especially for a Cantonese restaurant. Good lighting, nice decor.“

“Booked for Saturday night date. The food is good, but to be fair the dumplings were amazing, whereas the duck was slightly tasteless in my view. The atmosphere is decent but could use a bit more music, and the service was top notch. Price was high as it would be expected in NYC, c150 per head with one drink.“

“It was a joy of chaotic stress and tasty dim sum !! And i meant it.We came on weekend with friends visiting from out of town and of course its chaotic because its mobbed with people waiting in and outside to be seated.“So all you need to do is” go inside and take a number from a black suited guy with a clipboard in his hand, if you cant find him just listen to his calling out for numbers. After you got a number, its best to wait outside and wait for the calling. On the street you can hear through the speaker. The numbers jumble around depending on the numbers of party, so just let the man do his job (he knows what he is doin)To be honest the wait is not that long. Tables turn over quickly and also sharing the same table with others make it a lot less waiting.Once seated you can start the fun time anticipating the dim sum carts coming around and picking what looks delish. I have to say it surprises me that the dim sum is really good and the best so far I had around town until otherwise. Its even better than some Hong Kong dim sum places I tried while living in Hong Kong. What can I recommend ? All of it , try everything. My fav is always the fluffy fried taro/yam dumplings, lava custard buns, rice rolls with shrimp or pork drizzled with soy sauce and egg tarts. We paid $94 before tips for 4 people. Its beyond reasonable for such good dim sum !!!“

“We got a reservation for 9 people on a Sunday morning at this location of Dim Sum Palace and it was a nice way to spend time with family. The restaurant isnt very big but there's enough room for two large tables and a decent number of tables for 2 and 4. We ordered around 20 different items and the standouts were the shrimp rice rolls, soup dumplings, beef chow fun, and stir fried turnip cake. The service was generally good but three items never arrived at our table and we had to let the staff know; the food arrived at the end when we were almost at max capacity. All in all Dim Sum Palace is a more relaxing and approachable alternative to venturing to the large dim sum places Chinatown or Flushing.“

“Definitely a five star. The 8 spice toufu melt in your month, almost like cheese filling, crispy skin was just right. Mouth watery chili chicken nicely presented, meat is still kinda warm when it is served, flavor is good. Very authentic and exquisite chinese cuisine. Better than many restaurants in China for sure.“

“We had a WONDERFUL time at Mala Project this week. Our server, Kyle, was extremely helpful in recommending ‘must haves’ for our appetizers, dry pot and, of course, drinks. We planned for only a quick bite to eat, but the atmosphere was so welcoming, we ordered more drinks and hung out for a while. Highly recommend this restaurant!“

“I came to this restaurant for dinner last night. Overall, I was not impressed and was even a little disappointed. In terms of service, I wanted to get help three times last night but could not find the waiter, and even when I waved, he did not come over to ask. I don’t understand if they had other things to deal with yesterday and were very busy, but when dining in, There were only three tables in the area where I ate. In terms of food, I learned about the Peking duck in this store from the xhs app. I went there for the Peking duck and hot stone wagyu. The wagyu was very thin. Yesterday’s waiter took a long time to fry it, and the wagyu was too thin. It started to roll up, so it wasn't heated evenly and was overcooked in the middle. Yesterday I ordered four dishes of Peking duck, sliced duck with pancake, lychee wood-smoked sliced duck, soup, and salt and pepper duck rack. The pancake was as thin as paper and elastic, which was very good. It was eaten wrapped with Peking duck and lychee. The wood smoke is very ordinary, there is no smell of lychee wood, it is just ordinary smoke. The soup is well made and not greasy at all. It also contains barley, yam and wolfberry. The most disappointing thing is the salt and pepper duck rack. I don’t know if the chef was in a hurry to cook it, but some were extremely salty and some were tasteless. I didn’t order wine yesterday, but ordered hot tea. I feel like this place is more suitable for a drink and a get-together. I can invite friends over for drinks next time, but the food still has a lot of room for improvement.“

“I enjoyed Ping's for dimsum! We ate on a Sunday morning 11am, and I was suprised for walk ins there were no lines and a good amount of available tables. Note that they don't have carts here - which is for the best because the walking space is narrow in the restaurant. But some people come through with one tray of a certain dish like the steamed char siu baos or egg tarts now and then. But generally the ordering is more a la carte. The service is great here. They are on top of it - taking your orders (especially since it is a la carte ordering) and refilling teas immediately. Make sure to turn over the top of the teapot to indicate you need a refill! My favorites were: Sticky rice, which had a lot of good meat in it including egg yolk, sausage, and juicy ground meat Short ribs - so flavorful Turnip cakes (lo bak go) - had great bites of diced sausage Baked pineapple bun - not only is there custard inside but also some pineapple pieces! Fried dough stick with rice noodle - delish sauce and sprinkle of green onion garnish is a great touch Asian greens with fried shallots (good to have as a green veggie!) Shu mai and har gow, which are my go-tos, are of course delicious but nothing that stood out to me compared to other places I've been to. I would recommend Ping's for dimsum! It was very nice to experience a dim sum dining experience that didn't feel rushed and had attentive service.“

“Holy cow was this food delicious! But be warned, some dishes pack a punch with the deeply aromatic spices. The flavors may not jive with people looking for typical Americanized Chinese food but it is definitely worth a try. Oh and especially the dumplings in chili oil and the red bean buns for dessert. “Dim Sum Chelsea is by far the best restaurant I've ever been to. The food quality is outstanding, with generous portions served promptly. Additionally, the service is impeccable, with servers who are incredibly friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Dim Sum Chelsea for a fantastic dining experience.“

“This is old Chinatown! No frills lunch counter, cash only, delicious food. Came here for a Sunday comedy show which was great. During the week this is a regular breakfast and lunch counter where OG neighborhood folk come for authentic, cheap quick bites. They are embracing these special events now too to keep up with rising rents. The sauteed cauliflower and the salted chicken were so incredibly delicious. The congee was extra tasty. Bao and dumplings were so good too. I need to come back again. Hope Mee Sum stays for a long time“

“Excellent old style dim sum. You know it’s good when elderly uncles aunties gather on a sunday for dim sum. Shout out to these dishes - pearl balls (minced pork ball covered with glutinous rice, delicious), and wu har (shredded yam with prawns, a popular southern chinese dish my grandma used to make!). Friendly aunties serving food and speaking Taishan or Toi Shan, giving a vibe that is authentic. Very busy on Sunday so come early before 10am.Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids with families. Dim sum is good for children and sweet dim sum available.“

“Went for lunar new year. It’s a pretty nice place with good service. We were given chinese new year themed keychains. They had a restaurant week menu that offered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees for $52 for 2 people. We got 2 restaurant week orders and family styled it. The portions were large and it was way more than enough food for 2 people. My favorite dish was the Grand Marnier prawns. They were huge shrimp battered and fried over lettuce, tomato, and walnuts topped with pineapple and a sweet white sauce. Sweet, rich, and delicious dish. The stir fried beef noodles which were savory and good. The noodles were soft and wide like the consistency of Thai noodles, and the dish was sufficiently beefy. The beef could’ve been juicier and tastier though. The king pao chicken was fine. The mouth watering chicken was good but spicy. That was over cucumber and topped with a sauce, peanuts, and scallions. We got 8 soup dumplings and they were tasty, the right warmth, and better than din tai fung. There was so much food that we took 2 entrees worth of food home. Very solid Chinese food overall, but it depends on the dish.“

“It's the best place for a 8-10ppl birthday dinner! I guarantee you all the tables around you will have a birthday person and birthday songs will not end all night. It just adds to the festivities!! Good food is always a plus. They are fast with serving food but extremely slow with serving water for some reason so note that. We ordered individual items for a party of 8 people instead of ordering the set menu and it came out to be so cheap (<$30pp). If you are on a budget, don't go with the set menu and order individual items. We ordered a lot of food, triple checked with the staff that we will have enough for our group and we were so stuffed, and yet it was so affordable.Note: absolutely no hard liquor allowed even though it's byob.Even if you have a reservation, expect to wait up to 30 min.“

“Absolutely delicious. I stopped here after a doctor’s appointment before I had to train back home. They seated me quickly, and the food was quick. I ordered the fried duck dumplings, the steamed shrimp dumplings (not the shumai) and scallion pancake. “If you like good Szechuan, this is the place. The menu is vast and eclectic. I enjoy hot spicy food. Searching the menu I found "griddled shrimp" that's it, no other description. This poc from the post is what I got and I can't stop thinking about the next time. It wasn't the normal heat, it made my mouth tingle not on fire like other things do.When I told the waitresses how I felt about the meal she said that any protein can be substituted for the shrimp. It was one of the best things I've eaten.“

“Ignore the negative reviews and just eat here! My husband and I were blown away with how quickly our food came out and the quality of food. We ordered dan dan noodles in peanut sauce and vinegar, crispy shredded beef, and dry pepper chicken, with a side of white rice and everything was SO good. We have been living in the neighborhood for the past 7 years but usually went to Chinatown for Chinese dinners and we both jokingly said we’ve been fools for doing that when we could have just eaten at Hui. “Dim Sum Garden, located in midtown, offered a pleasant dining experience. Although small in size, it provided a quieter atmosphere compared to larger Dim Sum restaurants.
