“We had a WONDERFUL time at Mala Project this week. Our server, Kyle, was extremely helpful in recommending ‘must haves’ for our appetizers, dry pot and, of course, drinks. We planned for only a quick bite to eat, but the atmosphere was so welcoming, we ordered more drinks and hung out for a while. Highly recommend this restaurant!“

“Ottimo ristorante di Ramen (giapponese e non quello "tarocco" o fatto con quello istantaneo del supermercato) che offre anche una fantastica selezione di ravioli. Prezzi tutto sommato accettabili per la media della città e acqua gratuita. Posto piccolo, accogliente, staff cordiale e velocissimo. Porzioni corpose quindi ordinate con cautela o non riuscirete a finire tutto.“

“The ambiance of the place, with cozy seating, set the stage for a delightful evening for aficionados of ramen. The ramen itself was a revelation: a steaming bowl brimming with uniquely rich, heartwarming broth, springy noodles, and an array of toppings that came together flawlessly.Prices were reasonable. Overall, it was a 5-star experience that I can't wait to repeat.“

“Really beautiful space with lovely food and great service. I was expecting a bit more from the food tbh for the price (not sure what though because I have no real complaint but it wasn't spectacular other than the mixed fritter appetizer which was the best tempura I've ever had). All in all 4.5 stars.“

“Great place to eat. Friendly and big portions. I have tried most things and liked them but. My go to order is the Chicken Bimbap Bowl with Tiger Sauce. They are donating a portion of sales to Annandale Baseball on Monday 4/26 and Tuesday 4/27... Just mention Annandale at the register or in the "Special Instructions" when ordering online.“

Also started with the rainbow soup dumplings each individual dumplings had its own unique ingredient inside which made it interesting to see what you get . “Although the queue was quite fast, there were a lot of seats inside. My friend said that the appetizers included small yellow croaker, so I queued up. The tofu soup was honestly very good and affordable. The stone pot bibimbap had a stronger wine taste and the pickled crab was thinner. Compared with the price It's nothing“

“Came down to this no frill southeast Asian place while browsing for food in east village. Dishes are priced right for the portion, and taste great! We ordered the shrimp laksa and pork chop over vermicelli noodles. Enjoyed them a lot! Will love to go back and try some more dishes there again.“

“I came to this restaurant for dinner last night. Overall, I was not impressed and was even a little disappointed. In terms of service, I wanted to get help three times last night but could not find the waiter, and even when I waved, he did not come over to ask. I don’t understand if they had other things to deal with yesterday and were very busy, but when dining in, There were only three tables in the area where I ate. In terms of food, I learned about the Peking duck in this store from the xhs app. I went there for the Peking duck and hot stone wagyu. The wagyu was very thin. Yesterday’s waiter took a long time to fry it, and the wagyu was too thin. It started to roll up, so it wasn't heated evenly and was overcooked in the middle. Yesterday I ordered four dishes of Peking duck, sliced duck with pancake, lychee wood-smoked sliced duck, soup, and salt and pepper duck rack. The pancake was as thin as paper and elastic, which was very good. It was eaten wrapped with Peking duck and lychee. The wood smoke is very ordinary, there is no smell of lychee wood, it is just ordinary smoke. The soup is well made and not greasy at all. It also contains barley, yam and wolfberry. The most disappointing thing is the salt and pepper duck rack. I don’t know if the chef was in a hurry to cook it, but some were extremely salty and some were tasteless. I didn’t order wine yesterday, but ordered hot tea. I feel like this place is more suitable for a drink and a get-together. I can invite friends over for drinks next time, but the food still has a lot of room for improvement.“

“No real complaints. The dumplings were solid. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was average. I will come back if I am in the Times Square area.Parking: It’s street parking in one of the busiest parts of the city. If you find a spot, you should play the lottery. ?“

“The seating was prompt without much delay. The interior was clean and well kept. The kitchen was open view, which allowed the viewing of the entire prep process.I had akamaru shinaji and my wife had shiromaru motoaji. Both had good flavors and I did choose akamari shinaji for bamboo shoots, but I preferred the milky broth of motoaji.“

“Writing this for their takeout, I ordered from Uber Eats and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with how well everything came packaged and how the sashimi platter was so thoughtfully plated with edible flowers, shiso leaves, and the other garnishes that normally come with sashimi platters. I’ve done sushi takeout from other restaurants and Phoshimi stands out with the quality of their fish and overall presentation. I also got the pho ga which was delicious and hit the spot for soup on a cold day! Love the concept of a pho plus sushi restaurant - cuz sometimes you just want both!“

“Food came out really fast, and the staff was nice. I had the clay pot and it was not bad. The pineapple fried rice was pretty good (we got it without the curry powder)It’s a small place, but the tables turn over quick. We came at 6:30pm on a Thursday and got a seat without reservations. I don’t think they do reservations.“

“Ordered takeout, didn’t eat in. Fantastic and very authentic. Here’s a tip, if they have jellyfish on the menu, it’s a real Chinese restaurant. And if you’ve never have jellyfish, just remember, at one time sushi was new and nobody in NY would eat raw fish … until they tried it. So try the jellyfish.“

“It was a little tight seating wise but also one of the only places in the area I could find with seating. The price to seating size was almost perfect and it was some of th3 best fried rice I've ever had. The dumplings I stole off my partners plate were good too :^)They have self order kiosks so if you wanted to you would t if had to talk to anyone. It was fantastic and a great place to chill out at the end of a long day of walking“

“The attentive staff and friendly owner set this restaurant apart from others of its kind by making me feel at home. I've enjoyed several of their chicken dishes and the vegetables are cooked nicely. If you're there at the right time you can get fresh homemade shrimp chips or a jelly dessert! Students from nearby high schools dine in as well. Would recommend a visit if you're in the area.“

“Ban Ban Shop is a very cute fusion restaurant that opened across from Columbia University that serves a banh mi, baos, rice bowls, maki rolls, and grain bowls. 3.5 stars: I was very excited to try the banh mi here, but was lowkey disappointed. I ordered the Five Spice Roasted Pork Banh Mi. Don't get me wrong, the pork is very well seasoned/marinated and tender. Unfortunately, the baguette here is too soft, and the oil from the pork does seep through. The key to a good banh mi is the baguette - light on the inside with a thin and crispy crust. You'll know the baguette is good when the roof of your mouth gets destroyed by the time you finish it.“

“Consistently, one of the best noodle places in New York. We came back after 6 years and the has not changed and so the food. It is a bit crowded and service is just NY style, but the food is so good. You have to try stir fry noodles. Location is very convenient in the midtown area and prices are accesible.“

The restaurant is so beautiful with two very nice wide open bars. Highly recommend the Samon Carpaccio and the Dumplings! Only complaint is the menu is very small.Kid-friendliness: Im sure it wouldn't be a prpblem but definitely a high class atmosphereWheelchair accessibility: They do have an elevator but it was out of service when I went“

“The food is delicious. I've tried the tonkotsu and shoyu ramen. Both were quite good. Service and atmosphere are exactly as one would like in a small ramen shop. Music is not too loud, service doesn't hover and mainly leaves you alone. They're always around to get their attention should you need it.“

“(4.5 stars) Extremely attentive service, quiet and relaxed yet intricate ambience. The food was very reasonably priced (for NY prices) for modern Chinese cuisine. Favorite dish was probably the lychee shrimp balls in both taste and presentation. We also ordered the mushroom pancakes (it was ok) and Peking duck. The Peking duck was a bit smaller in portion than what we had expected (seems less than a half), and taste is also on the mid to lower end compared to other similar modern Chinese cuisines.“

“What a deliciously serendipitous surprise! Okay, so…being freshly back in NYC full time, I decided to go for a jaunt, before a scheduled yoga class - stick with me here. As I’m making my way to a near by Target to browse and bide time, I’m suddenly inspired to detour from all plans made (Target included), go further downtown and walk 14th St from 8th Ave. You with me, still?I’m walking and I stop at a favorite haunt and I pick up a new deck - follow me for more on that later. I continue on, figuring I’d walk over to St. Mark’s because it’s been forever since I’ve been in that area. I’m strolling down Broadway and what do I stumble upon? “3 Times.” Curious me, I’m intrigued, especially because 3 is my favorite number. I go in, I sit and I am ENAMORED.Y’all! The service, the atmosphere, the FOOD! You have got to try their CHICKEN SOUP DUMPLINGS and the FRIED MINI BUNS - the latter comes with condensed milk. It. Was. SO GOOD! I washed it all down with a lot of their EIGHT TREASURES CHRYSANTHEMUM TEA - YUMMMMM! Mind you, I went to the grocery store this morning, but you know…life will lead you to pleasure when you let it. I will without a doubt be returning, and with an even larger appetite. If you end up popping over to 3 Times (Broadway/Union Sq), tell them Donny sent you. If you happen to see me there at the same time as you, say heylo! ?“

“This place is terrific! The special sushi and barna roll truly excellent. BYO helps with the fairly pricy tab. Service is very attentive. Major problem is the deafening sound. I go early, before 6, which works for me. Great alternative to Seki and Gari. Highly recommend.“

“Food ranges from average to great. They've got all the basics but my favorite by far is the Sichuan spicy chicken. Crispy, a little spicy, beautifully aromatic. The skin on their dumpling dishes were all a little overcooked. Service is readily available and quick. We had a reservation for a large group on a weeknight and were immediately seated. Restaurant was empty when we arrived (630ish) but was pretty busy by the time we left (8:30ish).“

“This is pure theatre. For the best experience, get involved and talk with your chef. Loads of fun!I'm docking one star because the cooking extractor didn't seem to work very well, and after the meal, all our clothes smelled strongly of hot cooking oil. “

“My Chinese family's favorite place for dinner. We've been coming here for more than 20 years. If you want the really good food, you'll need the all-Chinese menu, or ask the waiter (in Chinese) what to get and he'll list off what's fresh at the moment. My fav fishes are the steak cubes, fried flounder, any casserole dish (like braised fish with tofu), salt and pepper anything (pork chops, frog legs, shrimp), razor clams, whole steamed fish, ginger scallion lobster, seafood with deep fried tofu cubes, black bean clams, snails, yee mein, seafood in fried basket, so many others.“

“Having returned the day before after two weeks in Japan, I was impressed (but not at all surprised) to find the food at Sushi of Gari to be just as good if not better than the high-end sushi restaurants I'd sampled. Gari set the standard for sushi in NYC decades ago and continues to amaze!“

“The service tonight was outstanding!! We happened to arrive an hour earlier than our reservation (really misjudged traffic and the Lyft ride) yet the host still sat us without a problem. The Omakase selection, compared to other Sushi of Gari locations, was so creative and pleasing. Smaller, intimate setting, yet it felt extremely welcoming. I loved this location. I’ll definitely come back the next time I’m in the city.“

“My favorite restaurant! As someone who studied abroad in China and ate Malatang weekly, nothing can compare. The only reason this gets a 4/5 is because of the price. You have to spend a minimum of $20. The soup I got (pictured) was $27. There is no reason a bowl full of vegetables and noodles should be that much. Service was great, but there is a definite difference in the way they treat Chinese guests and non-Chinese. I know how to order and collect my food, but the waitress tried to do everything for me. When chinese customers came in, they were just told to seat themselves and get their food. I understand not a lot of people have experienced Malatang before and would need guidance, but I knew what I was doing and it got a little annoying. Very specific and personal complaint, overall good service.“

“Everyone was very nice, it just seemed disorganized and we were forgotten about. It was a very long lunch, given we were only one of two tables when we arrived and the. Half way through, two more came in. Food was excellent tho. No one was rude, I would focus on creating a more attentive service going forward.“
