The pizza was good but I truly don't get the hype.

May 2024: still NYC quintessential pizza spot. I loved every bit of it. The meat lovers is amazing, but that John's Classic is still the way to go!The line outside seems v long, but it's really not. 15 - 30 minute wait.April 2018: Awesome cheese pizza. Loved it.

Best pizza I have ever had, Every element is perfectly balanced between the crust, sauce, cheese and pepperoni. I make it a point to get this every time I'm in the city.

This pizza was delicious! On the dave portnoy scale an easy 9.4. We got the peperoni 16" which was perfect for me and my dad

Bomb. This place is absolutely delicious, completely lives up to the hype. I would recommend stopping in if you are in NYC. They don’t sell by the slice so you have to order a whole pie (which isn’t a bad thing). I completely recommend this place to anyone who wants a good quality pizza.

Great pizza if you’re in New York City! There’s usually a line but definitely worth the wait.

Started with some calamari which was great in taste and portion. We then got a 14" pizza with pepperoni and fresh tomatoes and those slices were some of the best I've had!

How do you rate something that is so good, it practically forms its own new category? There are so many pizzas in NYC. Many, many good ones. This is the only one that - each time I come back, just before I take that first bite, I wonder: “is it really as good as I thought it was”? Because it can’t be. But each time the answer is, yes. Yes it is. The sauce has the perfect tang. The crust is crispy and chewy where it should be. The cheese is delectable. The atmosphere is terrible. They serve COLD Merlot for their one red wine offering. FFS.But you’re not here for that. It’s possible that the bizarre wine and the run-down summer camp cafeteria atmosphere are designed to turn over more 4-tops per shift and generate more dough (yes, I went there).Like I said, you’re not here for those things. You’re here for the pizza that will make you question other pizzas and why anyone eats them. Go now and get it. Go be happy.
