“Came here on a casual night drive and by dinner time we didn't know where to stop to eat. We were driving on the 27A and looking for places for dinner and we came across this place with very good ratings. Food is very good and well made. The Miso soup was not overly salted as some other Japanese places I've been. The décor is very typical of Japanese as it has these semi private booths which I have never seen before in any Japanese restaurants. Really liked this place and service was attentive. Even though it's a bit far from where I live I will def stop by when I am near this establishment.“

“Outstanding! We went for Mother's Day. Party of 7. There was no outrageous Mothers Day offerings. Just straight off the menu with specials. Patrick was so accommodating and got us the best corner table. Ryan greeted us at the bar for drinks and was awesome while waiting for our preferred table. Alexandra and Katlin were amazing with service as was the rest of the table staff. Food was unbelievably good. This restaurant is simply the best!“

“Simply put, this cozy, yet city-like seafood joint, never ever disappoints.Went last night with my wife for a date night, parked in rear lot no problems. We have frequented this joint over the years, both sit down and take-out (getting babysitters can be tough sometimes) and the owner obviously knows how to run a respectable and vibrant establishment. We like to either sit at the bar or the hi-tops behind it.As soon as we walk in, our eyes immediately move to the chalkboard with all the oyster selections. Last night featured around 7 oyster varieties from Long Island to PEIs, Pebble Beach, Massachusetts etc. We always like to ask our server (Rebecca was the absolute best), which ones stand out and she stated the Pink Moons. We proceeded to order two dozen total, sprinkling in all the varieties. It is heaven on earth here and when they deliver your trays, the convo immediately goes to whether it’s Mignonette or tartar and how much of a lemon squeeze. The absolute best. I told her if ‘Catch’ ever holds an Oyster eating competition , I want to enter…..and win!Our drinks were done to perfection. Filthy martini done perfect (stuffed olives amazing) for wife and Margs for me. We made sure to compliment the bartender.We shared the Soft Shell Crab sandwich for our entree. The taste brings us back to our Italian heritage growing up as kids. They even sprinkled bacon bits to go along w the regulars. Did not affect the taste one bit. Over the years we’ve had their soups, apps, fish dishes etc and I’m telling you, we eat all types of seafood and this place does it right.We highly recommend popping in here. “I've been wanting to dine here for quite some time and finally had a chance. We made reservations to celebrate my friend's birthday. The staff was great. When you arrive, you are greeted by very friendly valet attendants. Make sure you tip them well. They are fabulous, and there is no charge for the service.Our server's name was Mary Rose. Very nice lady. She didn't miss a beat and made sure to celebrate my friend's birthday. Excellent service!As for the food, we ordered from the specials. The clams were fabulous. We did have to request bread a few times, but it was worth it because the sauce was that good. You wanted to enjoy every drop.We also ordered the lobster bisque. It had a few pieces of real lobster in it, but the broth had too much corn starch or whatever thickener they used. It made it thick like glue and not very tasty. This was disappointing, especially after such a wonderful appetizer.The swordfish was seasoned and cooked perfectly. It came with risotto, which was completely overcooked and mushy. It went back, and a side of plain potatoes with shredded carrots and stringbeans were brought out in its place. The string beans should have been prepped better. I almost choked on one because it had not been prepped. We also ordered the grouper, which was also good. It was served with mashed potatoes. They were buttery. I would suggest them over the roasted potatoes any day.For dessert, we ordered carrot cake. It was great. Not overly sweet and covered with a lot of nuts. The whipped cream was fresh and thick. It was served with a fresh strawberry.This is a really beautiful restaurant with great service. Perhaps the kitchen was having an off night, but it was a decent evening. I can't rate it 5 stars for the food, but everything else was great. I can't say I am going to rush back here, but if I come back, I hope the food is better, especially for the price.Parking: The valet are great. Tip them well. They work hard!“

“Last night we had a delectable dinner at Basil. The chilien sea bass jumped from the sea in my plate. The seasoning was perfect. The rice was cooked to perfection. The cuisine is light and tasty. My husband had the beef skewers which he enjoyed and he is very difficult to please. Desert got a high mark with the baklava and the chocolate bread pudding which you should not miss. The service was perfect. The ambiance was noisy and bubbly. We will definitely return to Basil for its excellent table.“

“Good pizza please you can go pick your slice of pizza. They bake it in front of you. It was not bad. They don’t have jalapeños. I am from Texas so I was looking for that, but yeah, I did put like raw on the end and some kind of pepper on there, they have good stuff just go try it and you will like it. I gave him four out of five because I think I’ve had better pizzas or maybe I don’t know but just 4 out of 5 is good enough.“

“This place is small and mighty! Took my Mom in for a seafood lunch after finding Island Fish online nearby my work. The food was absolutely delicious. Mom ordered the lobster bisque which tasted just right, and a steamed lobster. which was delicious. I got a fisherman's platter which was spot on. I think the best part was Donna and Johnny took such good care of us as customers. So kind and fun to talk to. They treated us like family. Johnny was making soups at the time, and gave us some taste tests, and his soups are FANTASTIC. We tasted his she crab soup, the Lobster bisque and the shrimp corn chowder. All were perfectly seasoned and tasty. Order the soup.The whole shop is full of ready made seafood take home treats like crab cakes and seafood salads, and they have frozen crab legs and scallops too. “I'm a truck driver, me and my wife, we were delivering nearby. This place came highly recommended for my last stop on Long Island. Ended up being far far better than I expected. Tough to find good Italian authentic food these days. From the minute I walked in the door so accommodating, The food was to die for, definitely not finishing an entree. Just spicy enough with chicken and toppings included, a large order is good for a couple of meals. “This place is different. Different from the other American Chinese take out, I grew up eating. The Dan Dan Noodles, house special fried rice, and the Orange Chicken are some of the regular options we go with. The service is attentive and friendly. It's definitely worth a try.“

“A great surprise. We had a few meals while in town, this was the top. Friendly service (J P), great view and such a relief to finally get some good steamers. Actually ordered steamers at two other restaurants and these were far and away the best. Big, clean and flavorful. I assumed they all got them at the same place but I guess not. The lobster was solid and so was the shrimp parm. The cherrystone and fried shrimp finished us off. Sorry there aren't more and better photos but it's not what I think of. Trio deserves 10 ⭐'s for both.This restaurant handles two types of food service, restaurant seating and catering for small to large parties. I've now experienced both. My most recent was a repast after a funeral. When everyone is emotional, the last thing the family needs is problems with the food service. Well, in our case, more people showed up than were originally expected. The staff at Trio didn't miss a beat. They set up additional tables in a flash and quickly had the tables set. We had buffet style dining and the selection was outstanding, with something for everyone. From soup to nuts, everything was delicious. They had fish, beef, vegetarian selections and even offered coffee and dessert. (by the way, if I had known how good the desserts would've been, I might have eaten a little less dinner.)The service is impeccable, everything is clean and fresh, the linens and tablecloths were spotless.I'd like to add that Trio is on the grounds of the Holbrook Country Club.
