“A-mazing!! Tiny little hole in the wall Mediterran lunch spot. Only six tables and the chef was on his own that day. No servers or cleanup staff that I could see. He did it all! But Best was the Food!! Tasty and Huge, we had falafel, wraps in handmade thin bread. I ordered the Vegan sandwich, which included roasted eggplant, and cauliflower, hummus, lettuce tomatoes, and french fries! It was warm with a juice or gravy of some sort. It was delicious, if messy.! I look forward to my next visit.“

“This is a halal Algerian spot with very authentic food. They have sandwiches and platters and some flavorful side dishes. I had the merguez sandwich and chicken sandwich, and a couple side dishes. The Merguez was amazing, very delicious sausage type dish in a hero roll with fries inside. There's not a lot of seating space so it's a great takeout spot.“

“Went here on a whim when our original plans fell through and we had an amazing experience. The food was all so good everything from the salad and pita to the bbq fish and taojine. Definitely felt more local. Not packed but a good amount of people. A bit pricy but that's seafood for you. Will definitely be going back.“

“Should be your go to for Egyptian style seafood. The whole staff was super attentive and welcoming. You will have your try their Egyptian bread that comes with the salads and dips. Was super hot and fresh. The herring dip was the best I’ve ever had. Got the fried calamari, grilled shrimps and sengari style cooked fish. All were mind blowing. The calamari was super crispy on the outside and very delicious. Highly recommend“

“Some of the best Georgian and Russian food in NYC. Everything I've had here is bursting with flavor and the soups never disappoint. Fried pelmeni from the side orders is my favorite appetizer and the boneless chicken breast Shish Kabob is some of the best chicken I've eaten in my entire life.While not "cheap" everything on the menu is great value. It's one of the most affordable restaurants in the city and the quality is amazing.“

“Ali has a beautiful soul and it is reflected in his restaurant. My wife and I were not boisterous enough and he encouraged us jokingly "be louder I need to hear you as I am very insecure about my cooking". Would recommend getting a fish of some sort and vegetables.“

“I came here for a late lunch with two of my friends. We split the vegetarian platter, which included falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, fried eggplant, salad, cabbage, pickles, garlic pita, and a choice of fries, rice, or couscous (we opted for fries). We also split the fattush. Our total came to about $30 and we had leftovers! Service and ambiance is very straightforward- no frills. The food is excellent, though.“

“I had a delightful experience at Zaitun Halal on Parsons Blvd in Jamaica, Queens. The Chicken over rice was absolutely scrumptious—perfectly cooked with just the right blend of spices. The flavors were bold and the rice was fluffy and aromatic. Additionally, the meal came in very nice packaging which kept the food warm and was quite convenient. The service was friendly and the atmosphere inviting. A must-visit spot for anyone looking for top-notch Halal cuisine!“

“Their falafel mahshea might be my new favorite falafel in Queens. Stuffed with feta cheese and green olives. Served fresh and hot, perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They have another version stuffed with eggplant and harissa that I’ll have to go back and try. Really enjoyed the chicken shawarma bowl too. The toppings and sauces made this a great dish — artichokes, garlic eggplant, feta cheese, garlic sauce and harissa. They also have excellent lemonades. I had the peach ginger and my husband had the Moroccan mint. They have a lovely covered backyard to eat in. Great choice for lunch or dinner near the beach.“

“My kids, who are young, don't even like falafel. They each inhaled three (one complimentary at the truck, and two from the kabab platter) and it really is the best falafel I've ever had. I'm sad we didn't get to try the beef kabab but they were basically sold out of almost everything, so we had the chicken and it was AMAZING. I've passed by this truck multiple times when I come into Queens to visit my parents and never tried it and now I don't think I can ever go home without buying some to take with me.“

“We have ordered from Shawarmania in the past for our office meetings, and we ordered from them for our student event this time (30 people). Their shawarmas are delicious and everyone enjoys the food. The quantity is great, and Omar was kind enough to bring us a complimentary baklava tray with our order. He always arrives on time or before time (which is much appreciated). We will be ordering from them again in the future!“

“Always amazing! This is our go-to for dinner in Astoria - service is always friendly and fun and they always give us something new to try. Today we tried their samosas which were delicious and spicy. The chicken schwarma platter was so tasty with white and hot sauce and the chicken was perfectly spiced. “Went here for the first time tonight. Didn’t know what to expect. I have to say I loved it. The owner does everything. It’s a one man show- so byob and relax . The food was delicious. Had branzini, lamb, beef, beans, cauliflower . Owner so friendly and the prices were reasonable.. We were there 2 and half hours and could have stayed longer but I had to drive home . It’s decorated so cute with art work that the owner did himself. I highly recommend if you like this type of vibe. Got there at 6 was empty. By 6:30 place was full. So go early.“

“First time to ever try pizza shawarma, definitely a great choice! Will be ordering again also I ordered the chicken parm and Philly cheese steak sandwiches for a quick lunch. Both were delicious and very fresh. The chicken was not soggy like most chicken parm sandwiches I've ordered from other places . The service was very fast and friendly. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. I' definitely come back to try other things from the menu. I saw someone having the shawarma platter and it looked delicious.“

“The last time I passed by the bright green food truck parked on the corner of 31st and Ditmars, I had just eaten a massive meal at Hamido's but I made a mental note to return because the food smelled so good even from across the street. I recently was able to return, with an empty stomach, to try the King of Falafel & Shawarma. The vendor greeted me with a falafel to try, and I immediately noticed it was oval shaped. It did taste significantly crunchier, which I am attributing the larger surface area to, and the spices were fantastic. I had my heart set on trying their kefta but unfortunately by the time I arrived late Saturday evening, they were out of everything except their chicken and falafel, so I had a platter of that instead ($12). My plate was absolutely packed and smothered with their white sauce (highly recommend the red sauce as well as it packs a subtle punch), and the salad was a very welcome addition to the rice and mound of marinated and shaved chicken shawarma. There is so much flavor packed in every single bite, and the way the chicken was marinated definitely sets it apart from other shawarma carts I've tried thus far. Everyone I spoke to, including the other patrons waiting for their order, had only amazing praises to sing for KoF and I can easily understand why. I'm very happy to discover that they also have a truck on 53rd and Park, as Astoria is a bit of a trek for me.PS- An update: I have now finally managed to sample their chicken and beef shawarma, as well as their kefta too. My favorite still remains the chicken shawarma, which edges out the beef because it remains juicer and better marinated. I found the kefta a little too dry for my preference and it lacked that smoky grilled flavor. If you are going to order one thing, get their chicken or chicken and falafel platter with white sauce, red sauce, and extra tahini. And maybe a side order of falafels (4 for $3 to munch on the way home).“

“Typically I use the Uber eats specials buy one get one free because the food is amazing. Combo with rice and salad how you want it and so fresh. They are very generous with their sauces. Staff is always helpful, friendly and polite. I've had their cheesesteak sandwich which is delicious as well. The slices of cake are super delicious.“

“Most of the gyro carts are nasty, unhygienic and awful. However, Mahoud’s Corner Halal Food Cart is exceptional. Their food is very delicious with variety options. We came here twice, each times we ordered chicken, lamb or mixed gyro. Whatever your preference is you will enjoy every bite. Their gyro is very flavorful, not too overwhelming or not too bland, just right. They also provide hot sauce/white sauce if you want to add more spice. I would highly recommend this halal gyro over almost any others in queens.“

“Wow was I surprised by this place. Went with a girlfriend for lunch and had a great time. We got the Shurpa soup, it only had one piece of meat in it so even though it's cooked with beef & lamb, you don't get both. The fresh herbs in it were delicious! We also got the fresh homemade salad and Korean carrot salads which were both good and grew on you as you eat them, so they just get better during the meal. The steamed dumplings were good and the kabobs were so good! We eat got 3! We stayed for probably close to 2.5 hours and the restaurant didn't mind. It's a great place to meet up with an old friend and catch up on life!“

“This halal gyro and shwarma spot is a staple in the community. Ever since they were a good cart, they have offered unique and flavorful platters and sandwiches. They have many specialty platters. My favorite is the Freddy's Jr. They give a free falafel just for waiting in line and ordering in the store. Such great hospitality and service. The pricing is very good considering a platter has more than enough food for two people. Always love stopping by here for delicious food!“

“My friend and I visited the restaurant on Saturday night and were pleased to find ample street parking. The restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated. We were most impressed by the soup - it was delicious! The rest of the menu was also good, although the portions were a bit small for the price.The tea and the dessert were both delicious! The tea came in a small, adorable kettle with two cups, enough for two people, and it was only $4 !I enjoyed my dessert, Lavsh, which was something I had never heard of before, but it was really good.The only downside was the inclusion of a 20% service fee already added to the bill - this type of business should not charge a 20% fee. A more reasonable 12% service fee should be included, and customers can add extra if they feel it is deserved.Overall, the restaurant was a great place with a good location. The food was affordable and tasty, and the atmosphere was pleasant. However, a more reasonable service fee should be included on the bill, as customers should be given the choice to reward the staff more if they feel it is deserved.“

We eat a LOT of halal cart food, and Abdul offers some of the best we’ve had. If you’re in the area (or flying out of JFK and have some extra time), it’s worth a small detour.“

“The food here is excellent. Kitchen and staff are extremely clean. I felt very comfortable in the environment. I had moonlight chicken sandwich, the sauce was unique. Before I left, i tried out their desi chai, it was actually pretty good. With a hint caffeine, fhe desi chai was quite different and the taste was fantastic. “One of the most authentic places to feast at. Visited here from Toronto, Canada and felt like I was eating a home cooked meal. The quality of the food speaks for itself in the fact that you don’t feel uneasy after filling up your belly with whatever you order from the menu.The free lassi was one of my favourite parts and I thoroughly enjoyed the buttermilk goodness. I took back 8 boxes of their famous barfi and till now I order boxes and have them shipped here, it’s been 8 years since I first ate there. But honestly speaking, if they had charged me what they had originally quoted me for the tray of fried chicken and tray of fried rice, I would’ve underpaid. The food was AMAZING! The fried chicken was marinated extremely well and was crispy on the outside and really tender on the inside. The vegetable fried rice was by far one of the BEST I have had! Extremely flavorful and tasty. Much success to the business and the owner!“
