This was our second time here as we were here the year before but for some reason I did not draft a review. We made reservations which was definitely helpful because if there's a ball game nearby, it's going to be busy! We were seated at one of the tables where you can either get service from wait staff or order through their website. It actually worked out pretty well. We were taking care of just fine even though we did order through the app. We had a good mixture of food and it was thoroughly enjoyable! The beer menu is probably larger than the food menu but that's not really my drink of choice. The hot dogs on a stick we're really good with the dipping sauces as well as the kimchini! Octopus was also stellar as well as the flank steak. Great to share with others! I'll be honest was just very busy but a very large place with tall ceilings and a cool atmosphere. Restrooms were pretty cool as well.

I had the Brussel sprouts, the papa's bravas with chorizo, and the Korean sticky fried chicken wings. The first two were great flavor and textures, perfectly cooked. The Sprouts had a great fresh flavor and we nice and light, and the papas were filling and rich. The Korean wings, were very moist and cooked well, but were very salty and the sauce that they are covered in had a weird metallic/astringent flavor. The service is very causal and I highly recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice. The staff were all very friendly and checked in on us several times. My friend had the broccolini and the tacos. She loved the tacos, the broccolini was good but a little over chard and a lot of sauce. I would definitely go again.

I think I may have previously ranted about all the benefits of the small plate culinary experience (vs. the one plate entree) in in a previous review, but let me restate: Why have one great meal when I can have five? So therefore I visited the Butcher and the Brewer, an "Industrial-chic brewpub serving a menu of carefully sourced American fare & housemade beers." One damn delicious small plate after another: Kimchini Rice Balls in Wasabi Aioli, Grilled Octopus, Charred Broccolini and Korean Sticky Fried Chicken, though you may want to take a pass on the Fish and Chips. All with outstanding and patient service (give Andrew a raise). The place is located on the pedestrian only portion of 4th Street which with all the adjacent well reviewed restaurants, is Cleveland dining ground zero.

Typical American food washed down with their own beers at a reasonable price for the USA. Good atmosphere and very fast service through application

Enjoyed a quick dinner after the eclipse in downtown Cleveland while watching the MLB season home opener for the Guardians. Wings and sliders were awesome as was the cider and especially the white stout.Dietary restrictions: Staff was very good at identifying allergens allowing us to choose appropriate menu items - gluten, dairy, soy restrictions.

Awesome pre- or post-game spot. Beers were great and the small plates were super fun to share.

I was at an ANFP conference in Cleveland- among many chefs and CDMS and RDs for the regional conference. A group of us decided to check out the Butcher and Brewer when we couldn’t get into another restaurant on East 4th and boy were we pleased it worked out that way because we had incredible service and delicious food and beverages!!!!! Raven was our server and she was absolutely amazing! She knew everything about the food and the brews and she was so much fun, we wished she could sit down and enjoy dinner with us! She made our experience memorable and made me feel proud to be a Clevelander knowing that there are fabulous people in the food industry in Cleveland! My out of town colleagues had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back to Cleveland to visit! One of my colleagues bumped into Raven on the street when she was leaving town and she went out of her way to say hi and stop and chat! What a gem! We wished she worked for us! With great customer service came an enjoyable experience and we absolutely LOVED the food!!!! Everything was delicious! I can’t wait to come back with my husband on a date night! Check out these corn dogs!!! So yummy!!! I even tried a coffee/vanilla infused beer which was also amazing!!! Check it out you won’t be disappointed and ask for Raven!

If I were to describe Butcher and the Brewer in one word, it would be: derelicte. Never before have I seen a space that so fully embraced the dumpster chic aesthetic... and located on swanky East 4th Street to boot! (That said, it did have a certain kind of charm.)As expected, all of the beers were delicious, with a wide variety to boot (including an abundance of seasonally-appropriate barrel-aged stouts, each one more boozy and addictive than the last). While the food was good, most dishes were missing that one element that could have elevated them to the next level. The kimchi arancini and onion dip were both flavorful but a little bit stodgy, the chutney for the broiled (not fried - I appreciated that!) brussels sprouts was lacking in depth, and the meatballs were fine but completely outshone by the pungent puttanesca sauce. The one exception was the pretzel - do yourself a favor and get the pretzel! It was outstanding; easily the best brewpub pretzel in the city! (To be fair, the more meat-centric menu options might have been better, but between the steep prices and average quality of what we already ordered, we opted to skip things like the steak or bone marrow.)As for the experience... call me old-fashioned, but I didn't appreciate the automated ordering system, whereby everything was ordered and paid for using a smart phone. While it may have been "efficient," I missed the human touch of interacting with our server throughout the meal. (Plus, I think people nowadays stare at their phones entirely too much in the first place!)

My wife and I were on vacation and stayed a night in Cleveland. We picked this establishment due to the reviews. The food and service was great. It was very busy on a game night. My only disappointment was the waitress said they could can any beer on tap. When I went to the bar the bartender said the two I picked were " In house only".

B&Bs albino stout is still in a class of it's own. Highly recommend it, I know people that don't even like beer that find that one highly enjoyable. For food, the crispy pork shank is a must. Deliciously crispy outside with succulent, fall apart meat inside. The kimchi pairs nicely with it

Stopped in before the final game place was packed. Great vibe. amazing service considering the amount of people here the food was delicious as well as the beer. I suggested a chocolate stout to go with their peanut butter order. It’s my go to desert beer.
