“I have returned from my hiatus to speak on behalf of parable (again). Pastries just wake me up like nothing else. I say that but every time I try to get to parable "early" (i.e., before 10am), I fail to do so ;'( But it's ok! These days there are still goodie pastries available for the sleepy birbs (hurrah) Unfortunately, my gastrointestinal system did not hunger at that hour of the morn, so the spinach artichoke danish was a bit of an underwhelming experience, even though the danish was freshly toasted ;'( I liked the chip though (cronch). Otherwise, it kind of gave artichoke dip but served in a pastry vessel instead of a plastic container. I enjoyed the honey grapefruit brûlée circle croissant and guava cream cheese pastelito more. Neither were too sweet and both had nice crispity crunchities! Service was very thoughtful as well! Whenever staff brought pastries to someone's table, they'd always ask if the person would like a fork and would then go run and grab one. I personally prefer to go feral on my food with my fingers but the gesture seemed very kind. Also, I'm pretty sure the entire album of The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess was played. “This food is good!! Prices are amazing!4 of us ordered two appetizers, 4 meals, 2 alcoholic drinks and 2 sodas for just over $120. Review of food below:Wings: sauce is a little different. To me, it tastes like a cross between BBQ and teriyaki. Wings tasted ok, but I like my wings to be fried to crispy perfection, these were not. 3 out of 5.Crispy Thai shrimp: very good, had a ton of flavor. I would maybe fry them just a tad longer, but other than that, they were amazing. 4.5 out of 5.Crispy chicken tacos: girl, these r amazing. Easily a 5 out of 5. “I had high expectations coming here and they were exceeded. Very flavorful! Too many restaurants are cautious about flavor but Comune really goes for it. This does mean you may be better off going with a group comfortable sharing so if something is too sour, spicy, etc., someone else at your table will like it if you don't. Some subtle flavors here are impressive too! Everything is medium sized (kind of like proper Spanish tapas) which is really fun--esp for sharing. Beware the servers may recommend ordering A LOT of food. If you are drinking, three choices for two should be plenty to start and likely enough total--then order 1-2 more only if you are still hungry. Tables can be small so they can't serve you more than 1-2 dishes at a time anyway. If you cook veg food at home there are so many ideas to play with from here. I'm going to try to make quick carrot pickles, cook with crispy rice, and celeriac at home in the coming months now too. Sometimes I'll only discover 1-2 techniques or dishes I want to make at home PER YEAR eating out so to be inspired by three different things in a single meal is wonderful. I almost never go places that can cost $50-$75 per person but this is absolutely worth it. So so good!“

“We went on a tour here to learn about how they make their spirits. The tour was great, and our guide Maggie was very informative while being casual and easy to talk to. I would love to go back and meet their spirit master Adam. Prices are average compared to other places in Columbus. Vodka and gin are very affordable without tasting cheap. Only negative is there isn’t much parking. Overall I am more than satisfied with my experience here. Can’t wait for the bourbon to be released!!“

“This place has a very cool vibe, great place for a date. It kind of feels like you’re in a jazz prohibition club. The drink menu has fun cocktails, but if none are to your liking then the bartender can make anything at your request. They have a VERY limited food menu, although very good. I do recommend eating before the show. The seating is very limited so try to make reservations earlier than later. I came earlier than the show time due to parking and time of day, and they would not let me enter even though there were open seats and I had a reservation for the show in ten minutes. They also only have two restrooms in there so finding a time to go between the other patrons can get stressful. With me not being well versed in jazz, I just went a random night and was not too much of a fan of the artist. Even with the neat atmosphere, a mediocre performer can ruin the vibe. When I went a lot of people were talking as well and the staff did nothing about it so it was hard to hear the performer too. I would definitely go back and give it another try with another performer.Parking: Parking on the street if you can find it or garage several blocks over.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: I did not notice an elevator, but the venue is down a flight of stairs.“

“I’ve never had a bad time at Eight and Sand. The food is beyond impressive and it is reasonably priced. You will not catch me missing the $1 wings every Tuesday and the veggie wrap is incredible. “We went in for our anniversary dinner as we heard that their sushi is amazing. Its not the place to go, if you want to have a quiet dinner, with some romatic music but it is lively and happening. It has very nice view, as its name suggests. And the service is top class. Our waitress did a wonderful job in attending to our needs. They accomodated us really well and I would most definately go back to try rest of the food and drinks soon. “This is a neighborhood bar. The drinks are inexpensive and the food was good. I got a cheeseburger with fries. Both were hot and tasty. This is obviously not fine dining but for bar food it was really good. Live music by Wednesday Wine when we came to enjoy the advertised entertainment. Of course, the music was loud as it is a bar. “This is a fun indoor date activity on a rainy day. It’s reasonably priced. I like the black light. The holes are pretty easy. I’m not familiar with golfing and most holes took 3 strokes, but somehow I managed to make it in 1 on hole 11. We will definitely be back when the weather isn’t nice enough to enjoy something outdoors. There’s a bonus at the end where if you get it in then you can spin the wheel for a prize. Make sure to wait until the very end to try to get the bonus because it keeps the ball after one attempt. I’m sure this is just way to keep people from leaving with the golf balls ? All of them came with nice garnishing (except the smoked drink which was a great presentation and smoky but was missing the marshmallow) which was very fun, we all liked the drinks we ordered. Service was fine, at happy hour there was only one person working and they did great but obviously it took awhile to get drinks when there is only one person working. Hopefully will be back sooner.“

They have happy hour Wednesday through Saturday from 7-9 pm which is fantastic for those who work later. Their offerings include: $4 beers, $8 wines by the glass, $8 classics. This bar is definitely a must try and would be perfect for date night if you want to feel a little fancy. They do not have a lot of food, but they do have a snacks menu. We tried the bread and spread as well as my favorite the potato croquettes. The bread and spread is roasted tomato + pita + labneh + za'ata. The amazing potato croquettes are potato + fontina + black truffle aioli. So yummy!!Well, definitely come back and love the fact that happy hour is later so I can go after work !“
