Was lucky to have made it in today for lunch before they sold out. I got the Pho Annam (wider rice noodles) and my partner got the Pho Bac. Both were delicious and filling! Service was prompt and friendly. They seem to serve different dishes for every day of the week and I look forward to trying Bun Bo Hue among other things.

Ân-Nam VL deserves all the love and best wishes it can get. If I wanted my loved ones to experience authentic Vietnamese soups, this would be the place I'd take them. It didn't feel like a typical restaurant; it felt more like being invited into someone's kitchen, where family cooks for you.Having grown up in Vietnam, I can vouch for the authenticity of this experience. The menu is refreshingly unique, with only 2 or 3 soup options available each day. While some might lament the limited selection compared to places with extensive menus, the benefit here is that every ingredient is fresh, ensuring you're not eating days-old food. It's an eye-opening experience in what fresh food truly tastes like.I'll leave it to you to judge the food, but I can say with certainty that the service is beyond exceptional, exceeding a perfect score of 100%. Both the owner and the waiter are incredibly charming, always ready for a pleasant conversation that enhances the dining experience. It's evident that the owner has poured her heart into this restaurant, and I believe it shines through in every spoonful of soup.

Adorable spot with various Việt special dishes. The owner and staff were so friendly. The food always comes out fresh and hot. Very flavorful, must try!!

Just did not satisfy the rainy weather chill ~ soup took a while to come out while waiting in a cold temperature restaurant. Broth was not piping hot. Server was apologetic for the delay but it was a lot of waiting for a work lunch. Broth was smooth & light.

I wish I could give this place 6 stars! The Friday soups were unbelievably good. Can't wait to try the other days!The woman who served us fell in love with our baby and gave her free noodles and potatoes and shrimp. It was awesome. They're so friendly and you can tell the family puts a lot of love and hard work into their food..

We went on a Sunday and ordered one of each soup of the day. Soups tasted just fine. We originally intended to order one soup and banh mi and spring rolls, but were told that they were sold out. Then saw that a few tables who were seated after us got spring rolls, which we thought was odd. I would only come back if I were craving the soups that weren't available anywhere else in Portland.
Update: I increased the stars to 4 stars for their improved customer service and willing to get everything fixed!! I came back today for just togo orders and they still remembered me and would love me to accept their apology! The foods are still perfect especially Annam Pho. I will be back again!

Fantastic soups, just as you should expect from all the VL spots! Best chili oil of the bunch. Great coffee, warm peanut sauce with the salad rolls. Nice open space, and everyone on staff was super friendly.

Amazing amazing amazing pho!!!! We went during their opening week a while ago and were obsessed with the daily changing menu. The soup was fantastic with lots of toppings. My companion wanted the soup to be saltier and the waiter brought out a mixture of sauces which he recommended we try if we wanted a bit more of a kick. Absolutely loved it, wish I could remember what it was. We also got the iced coffee which did not disappoint. Overall great food great experience. Will have to return.
