I purchased the Pumpkin Spice Cake for my partner's birthday on 12/12/2023. I picked up the cake at 1:30 p.m. on the 12th. I brought it back home and placed it on the middle kitchen island. Four hours later we returned home from dinner, and the cake had completely melted. I called the next day and was told someone would reach out. Marisa responded to my email stating that the storing instruction on the booking site references the following: "All of our cakes must be refrigerated overnight or until served. Leaving at room temperature compromises the taste and quality of our cakes." This states quality and taste...not that the cake will collapse and melt a part. Also, the site has this language under the 'Allergen and Refund Information' tab at the bottom of the booking page. You have to click the arrow to even see the information displayed. In addition, if you notice on the booking page, they highlighted text about the reference images and the unique designs in red. However, something as important as storing instructions are left in plain text and on the side menu - not in the main booking details. To make matters worse, when I went to pick up the cake no one shared the storing instructions with me, there was not a notice included w/ the cake, and the confirmation email did not reinforce the instructions. If a cake is to melt in four hours and the total and partial refund policy is extremely rigid w/ zero exceptions, it should be imperative for the staff to relay these instructions during pick up and reinforce them in all confirmation emails / communications. I spent $178 on his birthday cake for it to melt in four hours and not even have a single slice. For anyone thinking of purchasing a cake from this establishment, please be aware that you must store all cakes in the refrigerator immediately, if you are having an issue with your cake - sales are final, no partial refunds or credits provided, and the Wedding & Custom Experience Coordinator will basically blame you for "improper" storage that is never communicated or reinforced by their team. If you are looking for vegan or gluten-free cakes I would recommend Crust Vegan Bakery or Ramona Susan's Bake Shop. I frequent both bakeries and have purchased custom cakes from there over the years and they have not disappointed.
