Service was slow, server always had short responses. Order two salmon cooked same way, one cooked as ordered, the other way overcooked. Had a reservation requesting inside table, put on porch and watched people with no reservations get sat inside. Second visit, probably low on list to try again.

The seared ahi that my husband ordered was well done. The manager handled it and brought out a beautiful plate of correctly cooked seared ahi. The problem was, the second piece of ahi that was brought out was gristly. This was probably out of his control with being able to tell ahead of time.

Lovely restaurant with delicious food and good beer. We arrived before the kitchen opened and were seated at the bar until we were seated at a table. Good beer on tap to start with. We had the crab dip for an appetizer. It was good, but very filling. I had the grilled shrimp and it was fabulous. My husband had fried shrimp and oysters and they were also good. Cool place and good food!

Justin was an excellent waiter. Very knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly. Three of us had scallops which were delicious and one person had the Halibut which was also very good. We had mussels as an appetizer and the best Hush Puppies with honey butter. We have been here several times and have never been disappointed. One of our favorite restaurants in Charleston. Highly recommend.

There were plenty of open tables when we arrived for our 7pm Sunday night reservation, yet we were seated at a tiny 2 top next to the wait station. We had to push the table out my back wasn't right under the sweating water pitchers. Shrimp & grits was a bowl of gloppy gravy. Mussels in Jambalaya had an offensive taste, so he did not eat them.

Amazing experience! It was our first restaurant in Charleston and did not disappoint. We split an appetizer, a cup of soup, the 3 choose fry plate, and finished with apple fries for dessert!!! Would definitely recommend

Nice location and decor. The staff was very nice and service was good. Unfortunately the food was a miss. We ordered two side salads and fish tacos. The salads were drowning in dressing and the fish tacos had no taste, extremely bland and disappointing. There are many other better places in town to eat.

The food and service was great! Haley was the best at waiting on us and gave us tons of laughs as she was enjoying her work night. The surf and turf was spot on with how it was cooked and plated. Plus, their mussels were some of the best! Definitely a must check out in Charleston.

Service was fast and great! Good just not on par with their usual. It was a busy evening. We ordered three apps and just weren't happy with two. Calamari was excellent. Mussels were pretty good, but only about half the portion size you would normally get at a restaurant. The conch fritters were not our cup of tea at all(and we normally like them).

Great time at Coast. We started at the Smallest Bar in Charleston and then made our way right next door. Food was great. Service was attentive. Next time I wouldn't choose the high top tables and would sit at real tables given the choice. Good choices of Southern favorites.

We had dinner here with a group of 4. This is a nice place that isn't super stuffy, the waitstaff wear t-shirts, but the prices are similar to other high end restaurants in town. The food and service were excellent, and the interior is interesting. We had early reservations and were seated at our time. I noticed that when we left the people waiting were dressing nicer for the evening than we were ( we weren't sloppy, all collared shirts), since we were having dinner at the end of our afternoon in town. My point is that you can be comfortable in either case with your attire, although I wouldn't come here in a t-shirt and flip-flops. This place is located down an alley, so if you are on John Street, don't expect to see it from the sidewalk. We enjoyed our dinner and recommend this place if you like seafood.

Coast was recommended to us by a gentleman at our hotel and he was right on the money! It was lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed my grilled shrimp etoufee style. It was one of the best shrimp dishes I have had. My husband also enjoyed his grilled salmon. I highly recommend a visit!

Not as good as we've had in the past. Blackened swordfish was just grilled with minimal seasoning and Étouffée was bland. Too many better restaurants in Charleston to come here again.

Came into Charleston for the weekend and needed some dinner! So glad this place was open. Parking is tricky as you would expect but we found some parallel spots on the side street near here. For a party of 3 we were seated in 10 minutes and this place was packed so I was happy about that. We got some beers and for the appetizer we got the calamari. It was fresh and delicious but a little oily which will be a theme here For the entree I got the seafood basket with oysters and shrimp. The seafood was great there is no denying that but it and the fries were just a little overtly oily. It came with a bacon coleslaw too which was great but a little mayo heavy Overall food was fine just wish everything was a little less oily!

Awesome food and amazing service! Will be back to try some more delicious food. Also, very nice bartender at Charleston's smallest bar next door. Very informative about foods to try. I'm terrible with names, but all the staff I interacted with were all top notch. Will definitely be back.
