“This was an incredible find on our East Coast trip. The best gumbo we've ever had. I'm glad this was my first shrimp and grits It was a perfect balance of creamy and toothy with delicious pink shrimp. The service and attention to detail was spot on.“

“If you're near the pineapple fountain at the waterfront park in Charleston and in the mood for some good food and drinks, this is the place to go. The food here is always fresh and delicious; especially the fish and chips. The place is covered in dollar bills left by prior guests with lots of interesting drawings on them so your eyes will never get bored. The bar itself is a little small, but most go here for the food and dining area anyways. The only thing that was lacking was the absence of any air conditioning, so it was quite humid and warm inside. Other than that, I would definitely recommend coming here for a quick bite to eat and some beers along with it.Parking: Free street parking around the neighborhood.“

“So freaking good omg. So glad I started working within walking distance! I've had a couple of their sandwiches but the Italian boy is by far my favorite. It's so delicious and filling that it usually lasts me two meals. Unfortunately there was a car accident a few weeks ago but they're still open and making the most out of a terrible situation. I would highly recommend coming here“

“After reading several comments on Reddit that Jack's has the best hamburgers, my fiancé and I decided to have lunch here while in Charleston for a wedding. I also saw that some of the southern charm cast dined there which was a big draw for me. We arrived around 2:30 pm on a Friday and it was mostly empty inside - just us and a couple other tables. I loved the vibe of the interior. They had a nice big long bar which would be a good for a first date. Despite the restaurant being empty, our waitress was painfully slow - she didn't check in with us after our food came and it took forever just to flag someone down to pay. Besides that small issue, we loved our burgers. We got the regular tavern burger with the garlic & herb fries. The tavern sauce is so delish - ask for an extra side for your fries. I loved the seasoning on the fries. I would recommend this place for those in North Charleston. A couple doors down is Leon's which is another cool spot to check out.“

“Holy moley y'all. I'm so jealous of this idea. This place is literally next to Music Farm and close to a Sharehouse, Bodega, Charleston Music Hall, etc. Perfect lil spot to guarantee to sell out. I found this place on Yelp (duh) and it had 5 stars. Looked on Google and it also has 5 stars. So naturally we take a trip downtown, park a little ways away due to all the events, and walk right up to a literal window on the side of a building (walk up ordering). Service was friendly. They just sold out of the burgers (so we must go back again) but we got the spicy chicken sandwich and fries. Where has Tullys been all of my life? This chicken sandwich is so damn good. Im also somewhat of a fry snob and usually never go back to a place for the fries....but Tullys I will return for both the fries and the main course. Highly recommend if you want QUALITY fast food!! I woke up this morning thinking about the whole shebang. We knew this would happen so we have one in the fridge so I don't have to wait until they open at 5p!!“

“Ran over the other day right before close, had no idea what to order and couldn’t read menu, the print was a tad small. Young man working the register ran through all their offerings and welcomed us to sit and eat inside even after their business hours. Absolutely recommend if you are around the hospital area.“

“Came here at lunchtime, around 1:45pm on a Tuesday afternoon. It was quiet and not packed at all, so I decided to hop into the coolness of the place to get out of the sun. The fried oysters were so good. Nice and crispy and lightly fried. The potato salad was excellent! So were the fries. Whatever fryer they had in the back was the magical key to success. The calamari was decently made, nothing to write home about. I also got a plump cheeseburger to top everything off, and that was good, too. You can't mess up a burger, and this place did just fine. I will visit again once I'm back in town.“

“We were visiting Charleston, and our family has a number of food allergies - milk, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, plus I'm gluten-free. We are accustomed to limited options, being disappointed, and risking allergic reactions when eating out. So, we were unexpectedly blown away by how delicious the food was. There were so many options that we could enjoy. The crispy brussel sprouts and arroz con pollo was milk, nut and gluten free. My kiddos with milk, egg, and nut allergies loved their quesadillas, tacos, and sweet potato fries. The food was fresh with quality ingredients, bursting with flavor AND no one got sick after eating there. Win! Win! Win!It was so nice not to have to sacrifice flavor for safe food. I look forward to eating here again the next time we visit Charleston!“

“Delicious sandwich shop hidden in the back end of Bee's Ferry neighborhood of West Ashley. Being from Beaufort, SC I know all about Alvin Ord's so it was a pleasant surprise to have one so close to my apartment while I lived in Charleston. The sandwiches, always made to order, are fresh and flavorful every time. Their wheat bread is some of my favorite and pairs well on any sandwich on the menu. The staff is very friendly and super efficient. If you're not sitting in, consider calling ahead and I guarantee your order will be ready when you get there.“

“Really excellent and authentic jerk flavors. Would have liked to see a more hefty portion of the jerk chicken, since we ordered the large option. But the flavors were outstanding. Curried chicken sauce is delicious. Cabbage, carrots, rice & peas were all perfect. Beef patties too had great spice and flavor. Well done and many blessings in your business! ?“

“This is a cute, out of the way place that has awesome breakfast choices. The food was delicious and what we saw go by us to be delivered elsewhere made our mouths water. I had the Eggs Benny. I believe it's the best I've ever tasted. My husband had the French Toast and added sausage links. It was beautiful and he kept saying between mouth fulls, "Holy Cow". We're already talking about coming back tomorrow. Oh, and they serve more than breakfast too. We highly recommend!“

“Edit: the owners reached out to me and quickly resolved and apologized for the experience I had. If I’m in the area in the future, I will definitely visit again because of the way it was handled.Pricey! My salad was fine but oddly salty as were the chips, my toddler was the only one who would eat the chips. They made my latte and it was so badly burnt tasting. I asked them to remake it and she told me that I must be used to super sugary lattes which is why I didn’t like it. When I kind of fought her on it, she switched to telling me that the roast they use is pretty dark which explains the bad taste. Mind you, I love a good dark roast, I make lattes at home everyday and I can tell you, the bad coffee I had was not because it was missing sugar or because it was a dark roast.“

“Visited on a Thursday afternoon with 2 guests - restaurant wasn't very crowded (just a few other guests).Wouldn't describe staff as necessarily friendly - just did their job.Nice, clean atmosphere in a cute little tucked away location. Would recommend for a casual, quick meal with very decent prices.-Broccoli Cheddar (Average)-Greek Lemon Chicken Soup (Good)-She Crab Soup (Good)-Grilled Turkey Sandwich (Good)“

“Recently discovered this spot, the options are endless to be honest. There is a something for everyone…food is amazing, plus who doesn’t like an ice cream??Parking can get kind of hectic during lunch rush because it’s in the plaza but other than that? It’s so good, wish they had one closer to my area.“

“A small but quality Chick-fil-A on The Citadel campus. This one is located within The Citadel Canteen building beside Mark Clark Hall. No, you do not have to be a cadet to go eat there as it is open to the public. The dining area is always clean, and the food always comes out great. They are usually busy serving cadets, but the line is always served quickly. Overall, it's a great little fast food restaurant.Parking: Free parking lot just behind the building.“
