“Brunch at The Darling was wonderful. Austin, our server, recommended two different oysters which were fantastic as well as the crab cakes Benedict and quiche. The Captain Bloody Mary’s were as delicious as rumored to be with the crab claw, lobster, shrimp and hush puppy. Definitely a must especially when visiting Charleston. Austin was extremely attentive with impeccable service.”

“Halls Chophouse in Charelston was absolutely AMAZING!! We 3 ladies shared a tomahawk steak that was prepared to perfection, flavorful and melted in your mouth! The shareable sides ( loaded mashed potatoes, corn, and brussel sprouts were out of this world!! The entire staff from the hostess to the food runners were attentive, accommodating and soooo kind and welcoming! Our waiter Kevin was the absolute BEST! The only reason the food got a 4 star not a 5 was we only tried a blackened fish sandwich and a fried chicken sandwich, which were both delicious. But we didn't sample anything more than that. “My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary having a “staycation” in downtown Charleston. Our plan was to put our name in at 167 but the wait was just too long. We stopped at a few bars and looked up local restaurants and landed on Anson, which had a reservation available for 2. We’d never heard of the restaurant but the reviews spoke for themselves.We had such an amazing time. The atmosphere was great. We put down that it was our anniversary on the reservation form and the team at Anson went above and beyond to celebrate - an amazing upstairs table, and a bit of champagne, berries, and whipped cream to wrap up the meal. Peter, our waiter, could’ve sold us on just about anything on the menu. We went with the she crab soup, shrimp de johnes, blackened snapper, and the filet with bone marrow butter. Every bite was incredible. We’ve found our new favorite place in a city full of “the bests.” Thank you Anson!”

“A beautiful little restaurant that has it all. The service was fantastic and the ambiance perfect.The sourdough was fenominal. Flounder was amazing but many bites were over salted. Same issue with the rabit pasta being good but much too salty.The dessert - flourless cake was perfect! So glad we ordered it!Really only issue was the saltiness. “We loved our experience here. This is arguably the very best meal I have ever had. We ordered Tuna Sriracha, Soft Shell Crab, and Shrimp Tempura Rolls. They were very well balanced, great textures, new flavors, and so satisfying. We had Salmon and Toro Nigiri, they were hands down the best fish I have ever eaten. They were perfect, you could not improve these dishes, absolutely impeccable. Lastly, we ordered the Duck Fried Rice with a poached egg; it was so luxurious. It was crispy, fatty, savory, and just a great indulgence. I will never forget this meal. Thank you 167 Sushi Bar for your mindful menu, and perfectly executed food.”

“High Cotton is one of the more prestigous locations to enjoy brunch (as well as lunch or dinner) in historic Charleston (note: it's part of the Hall's group of restaurants). At the corner of East Bay and Cumberland, it is comprised of four large rooms three of which have lots of natural sunlight while the fourth is a bar in the interior with dark wood paneling trim. The menu offers a pleasant mix of Southern style brunch classics (Chicken & Waffles, Shrimp & Grits and the like) but you are paying a bit of a premium for the name and location.For our meal, we started with yummy Cinnamon Rolls in a skillet (very taasty and sweet, especially the center portion), then a Brunch Burger (excellent... really like the egg, meat, bacon, cheese and sauce mix togther surrounded by an egg brioche bun...the only way to have a burger), and the Crab Cake Benedict (also very good).Service, as you'd expect, was professional, friendly and on point. We had an additional pleasure to know that we sat in the exact same table as Ryan Gosling and Rachel Adams did in The Notebook (it's the small 2 person round table in the corner facing East Bay and Cumberland Streets). Nice...and we had no clue about it when we arrived, it just so happened. Enjoy!”

“The service and the ambiance was a perfect setting to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Beginning with checking in with the hostess, my husband was greeted with birthday wishes from every member of the staff that we came across, punctuated with a signed card waiting for him at our table. The only reason I did not give the food a full 5 stars is that my main course arrived extremely over salted. They were very quick to redo the dish, accompanied with multiple apologies. “Been following Chef Nikko since his Mansueta's pop up days and very proud of him and all he has accomplished thus far! Kultura definitely did not disappoint! The Sisig Carbonara and Bistek were very good and the Ube latte was the icing on the cake! We will definitely be back for another dinner visit but also looking forward to trying their brunch. Kultura is small but very intimate with the kitchen staff and Chef Nikko himself up close and personal working their magic. Highly recommend!”

“I ordered take-out. The young lady that took my order left half of my order out of the bag. always check for exactness. She was so sweet and apologetic. The waffle was smaller than I remembered. The whites of my over medium eggs were a little too runny. But the food was delicious.”

“I love the coffee I make in my own kitchen- and I also savor the 20 min or so sitting at home drinking my delicious coffee in the morning before I get into my day. It takes a lot to get me to break from that routine. I prefer to meet someone for almost anything else other than coffee- to protect that time for myself in my own kitchen with the wonderful coffee I make at home. That was at least until I tried the coffee at Bottleneck. I had it for the first time several years ago at a local farmers market- the Vietnamese coffee (as another reviewer mentioned is mind blowing). I loved it but I tend to be a coffee purist- don't add anything. I want to taste the coffee. Now Bottleneck comes to MUSC- where I work. I will now forgo my coffee at home for a coffee from Bottleneck. I mostly get the Nitro- cool, black coffee infused with nitrogen. No ice. The varietal changes regularly so I know I am getting a world tour over time. Sometimes I switch it up and get hot black coffee, sometimes iced black coffee. No matter, it's always delicious.”

“My only complaint about this place is that when you walk in, you don’t know what to do. No one greeted us and we didn’t know what to do. After asking, we learned its first come first serve, so you literally have to stand and wait for a table and rush to it before anyone else. Other than that, the food was excellent. My birthday was April 17th. Last year we went to Hymans Seafood again for my birthday so that means twice in a row I celebrate my birthday with a great meal. Our last few visits have seen a significant slip in food quality - stale tortillas, room temp food, un-melted cheese in Chilis Rellenos, .... the food just misses the mark. Located in the heart of down town Charleston on East Bay street ( near Market St). On street parking. Very little. Our server Frederick M. was professional, courteous, experienced waiter, and personable. Great menu. My wife had the Salmon salad was devious and huge. I ate the Soft shell Crab ( total soft-shell crab). Fabulous. Needed a steak knife to cut and eat. Quality of the food was fantastic. service was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant. “Great food, great service, beautiful decor. Be prepared for an unusually loud interior due to hard surfaces everywhere. Marinated olives with orange zest and pizza were awesome. Probably need a loud atmosphere to turn tables because the pizza is so good and so many people order it, but just don’t expect a peaceful atmosphere. In a hurry and want great pizza in a place that looks super cool and feels lively and loud with incredibly friendly staff? Go for it! Sometimes that’s what you want to celebrate something and to keep things upbeat. We prefer to be able to have a conversation and relax, but it’s probably great for young people who are on dates and nervous because they don’t know how to have a conversation yet or people who like drinking at dinner and cackling and hollerin’ at each other.”

A little pricy imo, but then again what is’t ??‍♂️.Nothing special about the drip coffee, but it is relatively cheap compared to other stores so that’s a plus.It would be a great place to study, read or have a small meeting.The employee was very nice, recognized it was my first time, and provided me with additional information about the store, ie curb side pick up.”

“We couldn't figure out where we wanted to eat late last night and didn't want to spend too much money since we'd already had an appetizer somewhere else. We walked by here and thought it would be good. The restaurant isn't exactly the cleanest and to food isn't exactly the highest quality that you may be used to in Charleston but it was pretty good, especially for the price. My husband and both ordered a drink and entree and shared a roll, all for about $50. It's almost impossible to get all that anywhere else. I even opted for the duck, which was a thigh portion but I really liked it. The curry was good and the vegetables were fresh. The roll wasn't very fancy but they had some that sounded really good to choose from. At under $10 for a roll, the price was right. Our server was nice and the food came out pretty quick. This looks like one of the hot spots for the college kids, probably because it is so affordable and it's pretty darn good. I'd definitely recommend and if we were local, we would definitely be back.”

“A small but quality Chick-fil-A on The Citadel campus. This one is located within The Citadel Canteen building beside Mark Clark Hall. No, you do not have to be a cadet to go eat there as it is open to the public. The dining area is always clean, and the food always comes out great. They are usually busy serving cadets, but the line is always served quickly. Overall, it's a great little fast food restaurant.Parking: Free parking lot just behind the building.”

“We had a ten person party on Saturday night 4/5 which is one of the busiest days of the year for Charleston. The inside was packed so we grabbed a table outside. The service was outstanding. It’s truly been a while since we’ve had service that great and we weren’t expecting it on this night. The food and drinks came out promptly and as ordered and and the waitress was wonderful. Everything was delicious and we really enjoyed it!! Great job staff!”

“Food was great. I got a bacon cheddar burger with fries, lemon water. My friend got chicken wrap with onion rings. She complained about them being greasy but I thought they were okay. Food was good, just felt like it took a while for us to be waited on and even longer while for us to actually receive our food. Like it was good, but also felt it was warm not, hot like it had been ready for a while before being brought out to us. I asked for my burger to be well done, not burnt. They did a great job with my request. I'd return and try something else!”

“We were in the area sight seeing for the day and decided to try their pizza. I always try to find good pizza since moving out of NJ. We grabbed two plain slices each. Abby was our server, she was very attentive and helpful. Our pizza was thin crust, crisp, very cheesy and the sauce was good. Would recommend.”

“I was lucky to stumble upon Dellzville while in Charleston. I pre-0rderd their Harvest Feast for Thanksgiving. It was by far one of the best vegan meals I have had!! I didn’t feel like I was lacking anything with the rest of my family filling up on their traditional meal. PS..mine looked and tasted better! My only regret is that I should have ordered a second platter for leftovers.”

It's also nice to be able to order appetizers, drinks and pay from the table kiosks they have. Ample seating capacity and parking. I've had two spectacular experiences so far, and I look forward to going again.Parking: It's right next to a mall, so the worst you have to do is walk a short distance from parking to the restaurant, but they have quite a bit of parking right next to the building.”

But the meals are also really great.This time I had the King St bowl, a fantastic representation of southern food done well. “The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because I was a frequent customer and their food was always hot, delicious, and fresh!!! I am also giving it 4 stars because the owner fully refunded me after I didn’t receive my food and he/she clearly knows how to treat people who patron his restaurant. I was a little early for pickup, so I understood that my food wasn’t ready. But there have been times where I have done the same and it was, so I didn’t think anything of it. The manager at this location told me that I would need to go through Chow Now who I originally ordered through. Ok, understandable. AFTER I left and contacted Chow Now, they called and she told them she will only be issuing me a partial refund because my fries were ready and not my sandwich. She failed to tell me this in person, “because she’s not gonna sit up here and argue”. Yet proceeded to just that almost blowing out my ear drum out with all her yapping like a rabid dog! The fact is, she knew exactly what she was doing. In fact, the other young lady at the counter told me they were just starting on my order, so of course I’m going to think nothing was ready! I didn’t make a fuss, nor was I angry because it wasn’t their fault that I was early. I just simply asked for a refund. After finding out that her intentions was to never fully refund me. I called up there and spoke with her in what started out as a calm conversation. She then got EXTREMELY rude, raising her voice, and started yelling and over talking me. Very nasty! Worst customer service I have literally EVER received and as someone who has been in customer service for years, this experience was mind blowing. I live far from this location but I come here for work and planned on bringing my kids here to enjoy food and ice cream one Saturday because it’s seriously one of the best locations quality wise and because our location closed down. But it’s safe to say I won’t be a returning customer. I don’t do well with nasty and mean managers who talk to people like they don’t care if they receive their business. Good luck to that lady, because one day she will talk to the wrong person like that! Thank goodness I have changed, I almost drove back up there and asked her to speak to me just like she did over the phone but she isn’t worth it and never will be. I hope whatever she brought on her shoulders to work with her today, gets better! Because she’s usually really sweet, I don’t even have to ask for condiments because she’ll make sure they are in my bag. Sad. Thank you to the owner for refunding me fully. I suggested it to colleagues due to the healthy menu and the centralized location.We ended up having a 2.5 hour meeting while dining.I ordered the vegetable plate and added the slow roasted pork, which came with a slice of toasted pita bread. The tacos were rich and loaded with more lettuce and onion than ribeye, not bad just not great.The swordfish dishes were well made, one ordered low country style but that order was not correct so additional food was brought out quickly.The stand out for us were the hush puppies appetizer and the blue cheese & bacon coleslaw. Both were great.Our server was also the bartender, she was busy but very nice. Our table was a high top in the main area between the bar and kitchen, two oddly shaped tables that were too small for three adults, food and drinks.You can expect the per person cost to be $50+ if ordering a drink and shared appetizers for the table.”

“This place is a gem! When it says they are pet friendly, it is no joke! The staff and the manager were so kinda to us and our two dogs! We only stopped in to get a snack and a drink to get out of the rain but we found a place that we will go back to anytime we have our dogs downtown and need a bite to eat!!! The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The store is full of various imports so it was fun to browse while I waited for my order. “Went by for pastries for the weekend. Not at all sad about it!! While I truly enjoy good pastries I don't like anything too sweet. I got a pecan bar which was delicious and not sweet as pecan pie- thank goodness! Would get it again. The pop tart was fun. Never cared for those in the store or other bakeries but liked this one. The coffee cake was Devine! I love cinnamon so was excited there was a lot of cinnamon in it. Now, I got a whoopie pie expecting it to be too sweet. Started eating it before I got out of the parking lot and almost went back for more but I had other treats to eat. Thank goodness I don't live nearby! I will be making the drive many more times though! Excellent experience!”

“I LOVE The Bomb Bar! This place is so cute and cozy. It is really beautiful inside, and a great place to hang out to get some work done. The location is extremely convenient and Ive never had an issue with parking even during peak hours (next door to HYLO) Staff is always quick and friendly. The smoothies are fresh and delicious. They add their own house made almond butter and The Bomb Co Blender Bombs which really helps keep me full throughout the day. Also, you can never go wrong with their OG Avocado Toast. Sooo good! Especially since there is no sign in how the robot will expect to take your order. But overall everything was good. Would highly recommend a screen that shows you what you ordered at the very least.”
