“Great light fry on the shrimp and fish. Loved the black eyed peas and red rice. My wife and I loved the Mac n cheese even though that’s not usually my thing. This will definitely be a stop on the next trip to either Charleston or Savannah.“

“Visited on 10/26/2023.Shout out to Mark Wiens!! #Foodblobber. Everything; even down to the customer service was great. I drove 2hrs & 55mins away from my location for the Garlic blue crabs. I ordered (3)1/2 dozen boxes; Yes they don’t have restrooms, but forget that. Potty before you go, and bring your own hand sanitizer as I do everywhere. Red rice and shrimp were good too. Prices were. Reasonable!!!“

“Pooka’s kitchen is one of a kind and serves absolutely delicious food. The platinum wing sauce was unmatched, the fried fish and shrimp had the perfect crust, and the hush puppies were out of this world. God was in this dish. Great service and energy all around.“

“I had a good lunch here. I had the shrimp sandwich on a hamburger bun. The loaded potato salad would have tasted great except that the potato was not cooked through, they were al dente. The waitress immediately offered to switch out my side dish. I chose the potato croquettes. They are wonderfully crunchy with a creamy mashed interior. They taste as if they are made without salt.They charge an extra fee if paying by card, which is fair. Remember to bring cash if you'd like to avoid the fee.“

“What a fantastic restaurant that's been on Johns Island for a while. I have great memories of lunches and breakfasts here. The atmosphere is cozy and quaint and the staff members make everyone feel welcome. I love the farm fresh ingredients! I had the special of the day chicken sandwich and it was generous and perfectly prepared! My side was tomato pie - something they are known for. After lunch I got eggs from a local farm and coffee beans from a local roaster. This place is a true gem!“

“Had a wonderful dinner at Middleton restaurant and we didn't have to pay for garden entrance if you are here for di bed.The place was very quaint and the view of the garden from the restaurant was so lovely.The host and the waiters were helpful and friendly. They served dinner rolls and they were made by local bakery , Saffron bakery.We had scallops as our appetizer and they were sit on top of mashed yolk, mustard, mayo and Lima beans with bits of crunchy bacons, so so good.For our dinner, we had local grouper with red lentils and egg plants and butcher cut sirloin about 7-8 oz on top of creamy mashed potatoes and green beans. Both entrees were so good.For dessert, I chose the chocolate mousse cake and all their dessert are from Saffron bakery.The restaurant is a non profit restaurant so the restaurant didn't charge us tax on our bill. We were so surprise and very happy about it so if you don't know this then now you know :)I really recommend this place and we'll be back with the kids next time.“

“Let me tell you, this is exactly the food that we were looking for! Food that is made with love. Not even comparable to a big chain restaurants. All the dishes that our family ordered, each one of them enjoyed the dishes. The staff were very kind and also recommended dishes on the menu. We will be back! “Called in order without realizing they’d only been open for 1 minute, regardless they were polite and service was great. The mango habanero wings were the best wings I’ve had since coming to SC and are up there with some the best I’ve ever had.“

“The hamburgers are actually pretty decent, cooked perfectly in temperature, and they were able to accommodate me getting it wrapped in lettuce. The wait service was a bit slow and maybe understaffed, but they did a great job regardless. The ambiance is pretty bare and casual, but if you're into sports ball stuff they have like a dozen screens.“

“I’ve been to every Gilligan’s in the area and this was by far our best experience! Our waiter, Porter was so attentive and polite. This was our first time at this location and we will most certainly be back again. Drinks were great, food came out tasting and looking like perfection Thanks Porter!“
