“It's a nice place, but if I drop into a neighborhood (or any) coffee shop on a Sat a.m. I expect a Sat a.m. "coffee atmosphere" - quiet, laid-back. Suddenly in comes a bunch of pre-teens, cackling and shouting. Too many parents make the mistake of assuming that we all want to see and hear their kids: teach them to recognize and respect quiet. Otherwise, as I said, a nice and convenient spot with a good selection for coffee and low-dB conversation.“

“Hello! First off we loved the cookies WE picked out. It was are first time and we didn’t know how the process worked. We walked in and explained it was our first time….umm crickets. She didn’t explain how it works and said will this be a 4 or 6 pack. It would have been nice to explain that we can also buy individual cookies. Hope to have a better experience next visit! “Chocolate, peanut butter and apple are really good. The coconut not so good. Gaggy sweet, lacking a true coconut flavor and skimpy on the filling and topping. Another comment— the pies could be filled higher since the dome covers are able to allow for it.“

“Always a fan of Baklovah for their desserts and cookies. The cookies are good gifting options for guests visiting San Antonio. Tried their Russian Honey cake which was so overly sweet and perfect for 1 person. Their desserts range has increased over the years“

“We highly recommend Caballero Bakery, we walked in this morning and bought a box of pan dulce, a variety of pieces for The Humane Society to thank them for their hard work in our community. They wanted to know where this pan dulce came from, they commented , " we have never had pan dulce so fresh, and soft. Not hard and stale". We sent them a screenshot of their website. We are always greeted with a smile, and treated like family. It's a must try!“

“Well played out design, and so many different items to choose from. I've not tried anything from their kitchen menu but everything from the bakery has been amazing. The almond croissant has some weight to it! By far the best in town. Guava empanada was also great. Different dough than usually (more like a puff pastry than pie) but I was 't mad at it! Only mad I didn't grab more!“

“One of the best and unique local bakeries in town. Located in a historic area near Fort Sam, the place itself is very cozy and inviting. The pastries are outstanding! All unique and so tasty. Very traditional but with modern twists. The coffee is perfect, as well. The cappuccino was excellent, too. The staff member when we visited was so helpful and friendly. The crumble cake is something I will have to search them down for periodically (I only ordered because of suggestion and I’m so very thankful!) I love the owners energy! These were delicious & the bean & cheese taco was a big fat taco. I’m glad to finally see that, because it’s probably one of the cheapest taco to make, but not all places make it this way. The flour tortillas are big n fluffy too! Gotta try more food here! Beautiful pan dulce in the case also. Lots of items to taste.“

“Fiesta Bakery is within a few minutes drive of one of the UNESCO world heritage San Antonio missions - Mission Conception. Tip: don’t judge the quality of the food inside by the appearance of the bakery on the outside (or inside for that matter). Excellent price-quality ratio and very friendly team working there! We ordered a selection of colorful polvorones (sugar cookies that are crunchy on the outside and softer on the inside), coconut macaroons (rich in flavor, perfectly moist & chewy) apple- and pumpkin-filled empanadas (recommend to eat when slightly warmed), conchas (often the most typical Mexican pastry that is basically a cookie baked on top of a bread roll that are colorful and sweet), cuernos (imagine the shape of a croissant with colorful sugar topping it) and a cream puff covered in powdered sugar. Everything we ordered was delicious! The cream puff and coconut macaroons were eaten upon exiting the bakery mainly so the cream / dairy fillings wouldn’t melt in the San Antonio heat (and because they looked and smelled so good). The cookies lasted a few days in an airtight container and were just a delicious and crunchy as the ones we ate the day we bought them. Whether near the start of your visit to the historic San Antonio missions or near the end, pay Fiesta Bakery a visit.“

“Stopped in today to pick up some sweet bread and was impressed. Picked up a few pieces and each of them were fresh, soft, and tasty. I will say after not having been there in years I expected more of a variety than was actually available. There was however a fairly large variety of cookies that all looked really delicious. The only negative we experienced was the visible annoyance of the staff as we took a little time between selecting each piece while deciding what we wanted. I guess they expect everyone who goes in to already know what they want. That aside the prices aren't bad and the pan dulce is worth the visit. Parking shouldn't be an issue.“

However, this other bakery would not do the special cake topper so our DIL tasked me with finding someone who would do Marshall the fire dog from Paw Patrol. Brittney sculpted Marshall from cake and covered him with fondant icing and decorated him just like the photo I sent her. Our Elena was so thrilled with Marshall and the rest of the family was amazed with how skillfully Brittney had crafted the cake topper. 5 starts for Cosmic Cakery!“
