I've been going to Hop Sing for what must be 10+years, after a coworker was reheating some leftovers that looked and smelled amazing. I was not disappointed and haven't been since. They make most of their food in house and it shows. There are few things on the menu that I prefer elsewhere. Their fried rice isn't too heavy, their chicken is almost always tender, their dumplings and crab rangoon are savory, and on and on. We've tried almost everything on the menu and every time we try another place we end up back here, even though we drive by at least a few other places on our way since moving out of the neighborhood shortly after our first trip there. There is one person who can be a bit rushed (though not rude) on the phone, but with online ordering for some time now, we often go that route.

Chicken lo mein: Overcooked noodles and too greasy. Didn't like the sauce. The chicken was edible. Egg roll: not good and mushy. duck sauce was too vinegary. Teriyaki beef sticks: not sure it was really beef. Made me gag. Chewy cow tongue liver is probably a good description Don't go here.

Authentic. Family run. Large portions. Been looking for a place like this. The portions are large and the meat isn’t low quality like most Chinese places. The chicken wings are amazing. And the egg rolls are huge. We also had general tso’s tofu and the hand made dumplings. Respect to all the cooks and people running the business. They are definitely trying and it shows! We fed 7 of us for $88 and have TONS of leftovers. The combo meals are a great deal! You only pickup here. Not an eat in place.

Arrived to pick up order and called wife to verify if she had paid online or if I still needed to pay. Began to get yelled at and talked over as I'm communicating with my wife via phone. If you'd like a side of aggression towards customers with your below average food this is the place for you. What a disappointment. If you can't fully communicate, just keep your mouth shut behind the counter. No excuses.

I ordered takeout from Hop Sing today and it was fantastic. I am American Chinese and this reminds me of the food I grew up eating.Hop Sing is the most authentic Chinese food that I’ve had in Vermont. I ordered hot and sour soup, Singapore noodles, and chicken and string beans. Everything was very flavorful and tasted exactly as it’s supposed to. Wait time was also convenient, on a Saturday night it was a 20 minute wait and it was ready when I came exactly 20 minutes after calling. I will be back soon!

Yummy food. A tad more expensive than other similar places, but not ridiculously so. They're always busy.

Been eating here for at least the past 20+ years (essentially since they first opened) The owners have changed over the years but it is still one of the best places to get Chinese food in Chittenden County. The serving sizes are gigantic, always have leftovers the next day and the food tastes great. We always go for the Sweet and Sour Chicken, at least 3 servings of Pork Fried Rice (because it's so good!), Lo Mein, and Sesame Chicken. For those who have given bad reviews I would suggest trying again, I know since Covid hit they have been understaffed and busier than ever so it's possible you just caught things on a bad night. But for the average over the last 20 years, Hop Sing is definitely a fantastic place!

Called in an order for chicken lo mein, hunan chicken, crab Rangoon, and crispy spring rolls. Lady asks for my number, I start telling her and halfway through she says “twenty minutes” then hangs up. Walk in to grab our food and she asks for my number, I tell her, she says I don’t have anything for you. I tell her what we ordered, she finds the bag then tells me “you said ______”. Lady, no offense but I think I know my phone number, I’m guessing you misheard me in your rush to get off the phone. Paid, went home. Food was decent, lo mein was good, hunan chicken was okay but was spicer than expected and chicken pieces were rather large. Would I go back? Maybe, if our preferred Chinese restaurant was closed and I had a hankering for mild abuse. :)

The dumplings here are addicting. They're big and delicious for the price. The fried rice is so delicious. I didn't like the chicken and cashews with the steamed rice. I don't get anything else because their dumplings and fried rice are perfect! I could eat them once a week! It's a small restaurant void of decor and a bit run down but the service is fast.

I ordered egg rolls, spring rolls, crab rangoons, szechuan beef and an order of the sweet and sour chicken and pork. I spent a total of $55 after tip and fees. None of the food I ordered was edible, except the chicken. Everything was extremely salty, and somehow still tasted like nothing? The most egregious was the crab rangoons... they tasted sour, and they consisted of straight up cream cheese and a HUNK of imitation crab just slapped in the middle.... not even cut and mixed in. No seasoning. Just cream cheese and a fishy stick.Honestly, just drive the extra five minutes down the road and get Grand Buffet... there's certainly a reason this place always looks dead. Absolutely unacceptable.

Folks said that this wasn't good. They were wrong it was awful. I ordered the combo and there wasn't an appetizer. No veggies and the pork fried rice must have been three days old. The health department should shut this place down.

The food was horrible. The chicken was undercooked too much salt in the rice. Just a bad experience in general. Never, will I ever eat there again and I encourage everyone else not to ever eat there.
