Magnolia Tavern

Overpriced drinks, bland food, terrible slow service. I’ve been there 4 times now and each time left disappointed. Shrimp and grits were 25.00 for 5 shrimp in gravy cream, no gravy, no Flavor just runny thin heavy cream. It was gross. Chicken sandwich was flavorless, took 30 minutes for fries. In all I’ve dropped about 500.00 on all my trips here and I won’t be back.

2/10/22 - Excited for my family to try a new restaurant in Clark County - Magnolia Tavern. We will NEVER step foot in the establishment again. Let me explain... Family of six (2 adults, 2 twelve year olds, a thirteen year old and a sixteen year old). The entire family ordered off the adult meal and everyone order a drink. Food ranged from Salad to Burger to Sandwiches to Mac n Cheese. Seemed slightly over priced but for good food and service, no problem paying the price. Server took our order and within a timely manner our food arrived. Initial observation of food was satisfying yet it seemed to lack a little in volume. The Wedge Salad was small and the Mac n Cheese was runny. The overall review from the family was "it was okay" and I would have to agree. "Okay" or "So-So." I will share with you that my family / kids like to eat, all of them. After our food was dropped off, our server never once stopped by our table to check on us until after our food was gone. My kids drinks were empty, my drink was empty and not one concern about providing service nor concerned about our experience. Our server was ready to start clearing our plates and asked if I wanted another cider. I was a little baffled but understand that a Thursday evening may be a bit overwhelming or maybe the my idea of service may be different than others. I receive our bill and the server added a 20% gratuity ($23.80). I was a little shocked that someone would expect a 20% gratuity ($23.80) when basic services were not performed - checking in with consumers / offering refills / asking if we need anything. Upon seeing the 20% I inquired why 20% was added to my bill and the response I got was "because you are a party of six." Baffled that two adults with four kids is a burden to a server and demanding more from a server. I handed the server my card. The server was proud and showed zero humility for providing less than reasonable service. I asked the server if they had checked on my family during our meal, asked if anyone needed anything, offered refills and the response was "no." I explained that paying a gratuity of $23.80 for not providing basic service is unacceptable and I would be embarrassed about it. The server said "sorry" and had nothing else to offer or provide. Having four kids and a family that enjoyes eating out, I always compensate our servers when basic services are met. Basic service was not met nor even attempted. Unbelievable. Our proud server was Audrey. I told our server that we will.never step foot in their establishment again and I will share this experience with everyone I know. I will NEVER set foot in that establishment againbut Audrey got her $23.80. Best to Magnolia Tavern.

I was there Friday night for my anniversary. One waitress who did well for her situation, she was serving 6 tables. Veggie dip was pureed and disgusting. Shrimp and grits were good but nothing to return for, Linguine dish was mediocre at best. I had a blueberry lemonade that was so sour that I couldn't drink it. I won't be back.
