Used to order from Kensington in Calgary. Been a few times to Airdrie, order was wrong and the chicken and chicken strips were hard as rocks and burnt. No sauces were offered. The staff were too busy talking to each other to get the order right. Will not be back.

Edited to add the photo asked by the owner as he said my statements are incorrect:The day we ordered, March 20 (as we always did through food ordering app), only combos of 3 pieces of strips were in the menu, no individual pieces. As you can see in the receipt, it clearly states 2x 3pcs for $21.00. This validates my review below that we paid $10.50 for each 3pc combo. My original photo shows those 3 'pieces'. The other combo was not delivered, so we lost $10.50 on that order. (Food app did not reimburse this). I looked at the menus on the app today, and now it is possible to order by the piece for 2.85 each. But not the day of my purchase. Apart from the price paid, i stand by my review that the size of 3x strips for $10.50 was dissapointing.This is my original review:I am so disappointed. COTW has been our go to for years since they opened in Airdrie. Until tonight. I understand they have to increase prices, but the portions got reduced (size of the strip). Just early this year, we used to get 5 good size strips for less than 11 dollars and they would always throw extra pieces at no cost. I was so excited and craving for chicken on the way. First I ordered online, didn't know that it will go through doordash. I could've called and save $15 extra charge. When we got home, just 5 minutes away and this is what we got. Burnt taste and saggy fries and a chicken not crispy and dry ?. Not worth the price I paid for.

Always a good place for budget friendly fresh fried chicken. Chicken is pretty good, friendly staff, and the corn fritter is amazing. Their french fries are fresh and hand made. Best place to eat fried chicken meal. Their family meals are really good priced and delicious. I recommend ordering extra!

We went here often for the fair prices and really good portions of chicken strips and fries... those days look to be ended after what we saw last night. Our strips (3-piece) were the size of maybe 1 from the previous regime... and the price has gone up quite a bit too, wild!!! I was looking at a receipt from 8 weeks ago and paid $15 less for way more food than what was ordered yesterday. The portion of fries was still the same but it was all about the chicken and budget friendliness of the place. :( Sorry, but this is not the Chicken on the Way I remember having grown up in Calgary. I don't see myself returning to this location (Airdrie) again, I'll spend my hard earned $ at other establishments as this one has seemingly sunk to a really new low.

Upon further looking at the food when I got home I'm disappointed in the new ownership. All 5 strips I got are equivalent of 1 and a half of the strips before at ANY other location. They gave the same amount of fries which was good. The fact you have to order every dip as extra even when ordering strips is crazy.This location is nothing like the chicken on the way franchise. I've been to chicken on the way for past 14 years at various locations and this just isn't it.
I order from here on skipthedishes very often and when I went inside for the first time it was amazing. Their chicken is soo good and crispy and their fries are nice too. They're squishy fries so if you prefer crispy maybe pass on them. The gravy is delicious as well and the corn fritters are to die for. My favorite item is actually the fish and chips, the pieces of fish are very large and crispy and taste delicious.

I get treated to this Chicken On The Way location at my workplace once in a while and it never disappoints! The food is consistently very tasty, fresh, and piping hot! I would highly recommend to any of my family and friends! The owner is also a stand-up guy and goes above and beyond for his customers!
