Silver Star Restaurant

Usually my go to Chinese restaurant. Have always gone in for their buffet, but since Covid19 there’s been no buffet. Heard rumours that buffet was allowed and inside eating was now allowed. Called on Friday to verify and was told yes. Buffet for dinner on Sunday starting at 4pm. Showed up with family in tow at 5pm. Was told at the door , no buffet, no buffet, take out only. No buffet, bad customer service, no business from myself or family. It will be awhile till we return, if ever.

We have been here several times and have always had decent food and good service up until our last visit. Knowing that New Years Eve was going to be busy, I pre-ordered our food 2 days prior. When I showed up I was told “we haven’t started it and you should go home until I call you”. I explained that I do not live in town and that I ordered it two days ago. A lady (The Owner??) came out yelling “what’s your problem can’t you see we are busy. What, you want to see my kitchen, you want to kill me now”. Wow, definitely not what I was expecting. yes I was disappointed but a simple "I'm sorry, Ill get it prepared right away" would have been an appropriate response. I truly hope she reads this review as it really should have been at least a 4-5 star.

They are the best and always the freshest of foodies! Their Salt n Pepper squid is a true test as it's always made perfect everytime!

Had a few bites and fed the rest to my dogs. Was not ment for human consumption.

Really ?? If I could give no stars we wouldI cant believe that they call this food. ginger beef over cooked . And if that is chicken we would be surprised. The only thing that was edible was the rice . But heck anyone can do that . Whole meal was hard Very disappointed in the food I would never order there again .I can believe that during these times where restraunts are hurting that they would not put 100 percent into their foodHonestly go ahead make your choice but we ordered pizza after seeing this garbageGreat way to spend 70 $ then throwing it out

I was a great patron loving your delicious food and now I can’t even find out how to order.I would order your delicious food a couple times a month and sadly I have to move on

Reading some of these reviews it’s about time I gave mine. We built a house on the east side in 1989 and the night we moved in we ordered Silver Star Chinese Food. We order the same thing each time ginger beef, lemon Chicken with lemon sauce, salt and pepper shrimp, white rice then usually a green pea noodle dish. With this order they send a complimentary 4 or 5 egg rolls . Our family has ordered this probably 100 times or more over the years. My kids family now orders from Silver Star. It always comes hot and delicious. We usually phone order with delivery. When we order usually on a Friday or Saturday night we’re hungry maybe after a glass of wine or two. The food is delivered with a quick response. We’re lucky to have this Chinese Food restaurant in Airdrie. Reading these three year old bad reviews as far as I am concerned should be eliminated. These good people bend over back wards to please. Keep up the good food Silver Star.

Some of the best Chinese food we've had, and with very personable and friendly staff. My favorite dish is the black pepper chicken with mushrooms, which seems to be a house special, I've never seen it anywhere else.

Its the only the best Chinese food in Airdrie !! Been ordering from there for over 10 years now !! We loved our order lastnight to !! Keep up the great work and the cooking silver star.. awesome family run place !!

very bad food. i order pad thai. it was not atall spicy and there were no peanuts as they advertised. no veggies and no chicken.it was just rice noodles with ketchup and some carrots and egg and couple chicken pieces. wont go here again.
