Recommended! Rimbey is fortunate to have a restaurant like this. The food is excellent. We recently went to a Chinese restaurant in Edmonton that we were told was one of the best; it was very popular (busy), but we thought Happy Valley’s food was better.
The proprietors, Mae and John, get to know their customers by name. Mae’s Chinese accent sometimes requires a careful ear for full understanding, but she is a friendly, open and generous individual.
This place really does make me happy. The food is so good and I have to say you get what you pay for the boxes are heaping full. My chicken balls were strapped closed with a rubber band. Ive ate at many chinese food restaurants in Alberta and this is by far my favorite.
It was my first time here, since it was walking distance from Days Inn.I had the beef bowl, which includes a slight satay-like sauce, with lettuce, cucumbers and slivered carrots on the bottom (and vermicelli in the middle). A sprinkling of chopped peanuts. It was great and perfectly-seasoned.
