Just had another terrific meal at Von Essen in Bragg Creek. I usually get the Schnitzel which is the best I have ever had but this time I tried the Spätzle which was out of this world. Great destination place and a beautiful drive from Calgary.
Delicious and authentic German food served in a beautifully decorated, cozy setting. Although the order took a while to arrive, we were offered bread and spread while we waited, which was greatly appreciated. The service was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
This place is exactly what you wish more food places would be… utterly authentic… and super fresh. We had excellent service and the food was superb. I got the feeling they made everything from scratch. Nothing frozen and reheated. The salad was lovely and the pork and potatoes I had was very satisfying. I happened to see the kitchen door slightly open and said hello to the Chef. You can tell she absolutely loves food and has sustainability, authenticity and taste on her mind....
