If you want to see what a Mennonite owned and operated restaurant looks like then you definitely need to come here. You will not find a menu like they have here anywhere else. Stingy doesn't even begin to describe it. You want to customize your own plate, great but it will cost you. $2/piece minimum. As in $2 per slice of bacon, per egg, per piece of toast, hollandaise sauce, ranch dressing, you name it. Everything here has a price. I'm surprised that they don't charge extra for ketchup and mustard. This is a place for retired boomers and farmers mostly. And the hours of operation tell you exactly how much they care about customer service. Was here once and definitely will not ever be back again. You can get just as much if not more at hagars cafe, and that's really saying something.

I’m not from Camrose, just passing through and was craving soup, so I went to the google lol and this little Gem came up. I thought Why Not, it’s a little off the beaten path BUT SO WORTH IT! I was greeted by a cheerful young gal and she gave me a menu and let me know what the specials were. I ordered the turkey soup and was asked if I wanted the 1/2 C a Full cup OR 2 Cups! I had the 1 cup with garlic toast, Definitely home made!

The Metal Kettle is one of Camrose’s hidden gems absolutely worth the drive to the east side.

I stopped in for breakfast after hearing people rave about it, and now I completely understand why. The food tastes like real homemade cooking hearty portions, amazing flavour, and that old-school comfort you can’t fake. Their breakfast is honestly some of the best in Camrose, and the pies? Incredible. The kind of pie that tastes like someone’s grandma still works in the kitchen.

What I love is that it's tucked away in the industrial area, off the beaten path, but that just makes it feel like a true “must-try” local spot. You feel like you’ve discovered something special. Whether you’re searching for “best breakfast Camrose,” “homemade pies Camrose,” “lunch restaurants Camrose,” or a new go-to for brunch, this place delivers.

I also learned they do outside catering, which is a huge bonus if you need great food for an event. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and honest-to-goodness cooking a total win.

Highly recommend stopping in. It’s worth it every time.

Visiting family and friends in the area and we decided to go here for a breakfast as it’s a locally owned establishment. So happy we did as our meals were delicious and portions were generous, everything is homemade plus the service was excellent. we saw many locals eating here so knew it had to be good . It’s not a big location and a bit off the beaten track but well worth locating its location. We visit this area often and definitely will be back.

Service is good. Food is usually Really good. However, don’t order the grilled cheese sandwich unless you like processed cheese. Yuck! Very disappointed. $14.69 For a processed cheese, grilled cheese sandwich and half a cup of soup. 🤯
