The Metal Kettle is one of Camrose’s hidden gems absolutely worth the drive to the east side.
I stopped in for breakfast after hearing people rave about it, and now I completely understand why. The food tastes like real homemade cooking hearty portions, amazing flavour, and that old-school comfort you can’t fake. Their breakfast is honestly some of the best in Camrose, and the pies? Incredible. The kind of pie that tastes like someone’s grandma still works in the kitchen.
What I love is that it's tucked away in the industrial area, off the beaten path, but that just makes it feel like a true “must-try” local spot. You feel like you’ve discovered something special. Whether you’re searching for “best breakfast Camrose,” “homemade pies Camrose,” “lunch restaurants Camrose,” or a new go-to for brunch, this place delivers.
I also learned they do outside catering, which is a huge bonus if you need great food for an event. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and honest-to-goodness cooking a total win.
Highly recommend stopping in. It’s worth it every time.

Visiting family and friends in the area and we decided to go here for a breakfast as it’s a locally owned establishment. So happy we did as our meals were delicious and portions were generous, everything is homemade plus the service was excellent. we saw many locals eating here so knew it had to be good . It’s not a big location and a bit off the beaten track but well worth locating its location. We visit this area often and definitely will be back.

Service is good. Food is usually Really good. However, don’t order the grilled cheese sandwich unless you like processed cheese. Yuck! Very disappointed. $14.69 For a processed cheese, grilled cheese sandwich and half a cup of soup. 🤯
Super little place with home made food. My go to breakfast place

WOW!! If you are looking for a cozy, reasonably priced, and welcoming lunch spot: look no further!! My favourite was the soup of the day. I was served by Morgan, who promptly greeted me at the door with a smile, and had fast service. I felt SO welcome!! She was knowledgeable about the menu, patient as I am a bit hard of hearing and had to ask her to repeat herself more than a few times, and made me feel cared for. If you go here, ask for Morgan!!
Google suggested this place when we asked it for restaurants near us. My wife and had the eggs Benedict - we both loved them, and the hash browns are to die for! Easy on the pocket book too!
Food is good. Pricing is far from accurate from their menu. I just ordered a Bacon cheeseburger & fries. No extras. No drink. The menu claims the burger is $10.50, then I asked and she said the small fries are $5.50😬.
Somehow my bill was $22.00 and change
Ordered a bowl of soup and a hamburger steak and thats what I got, a bowl of soup and 1 patty of ground steak with finely diced onions and mushrooms with gravy. No mashed potatoes or vegetables. When I asked, I was told I had to order those as sides? No salt and pepper or condiments on the table. Food was OK but average.
The meal was just under $20 plus tip, which I feel is overpriced.
It’s a local hot spot. Never had a bad meal here.
