This was not good at all unfortunately. Restaurant was empty
Service isn't offered as per a notice on the wall
You must pay before you eat so when the food comes out and is terrible your kinda boned.
We ordered two rolls (campfire and so other spicy roll) only for them to come out looking like a Cali roll someone dumped a plate of Frank's red hot on. And that's exactly how it tasted plus a bunch of salt. When I think spicy sushi I don't think Frank's red hot sauce.
And if that's not enough the prices are outrageous. 20$ per 8pc for a over dressed Cali roll is robbery.
Sadly this was a overall disappointing experience for us

Best sushi you can get anywhere around Camrose , that's for sure. Pretty easy to figure out the set up and understandable as to why it is, the way it is.

A great little place for Japanese food. Food quality is above par for a town this size and the service is great. Had our first meal out with our infant son and the hosts were incredible. Worth a visit!

Previously all 5 stars lowered to 4 now that they no longer serve you. It takes away alot of the charm and atmosphere ordering on a tablet the second you walk in. It's also kind of uncomfortable to be standing there trying to decide what to order before you're even seated in your booth.

Food is still amazing and the prices are so low, like cheaper than some fast food places. I also don't love the menu as much as I used to but I'm glad they didn't get rid of all the vegetarian options.

First week they start changing menu, we ordered bunch of items for to go , the taste is different plus the takoyaki were frozen inside.they used to be really good. Until yesterday went dine in was served an overly cooked miso soup plus it’s salty and their bento box is not to my liking, the salmon is not cooked well on some part. Paying before meal and not checking how the food is plus a table with all the portable stuff is self serve, clearly went from classy to a fast food stall. They really went downhill, how sad it is.

Amazingly authentic Japanese experience right in camrose. Delicious food, and certainly above what you get elsewhere.

I used to love Mikaku, and had a 5 star review for them. But a kiosk and no server was already a pretty sad downgrade, but seeing the menu change is what really did it for me, the quality and variety of the sushi has dropped considerably, the miso soup had such an intense salt content too it that everyone at the table couldn't share a single bowl. Don't get me wrong, everyone's allowed to change their business as they see fit. But there's simply no situation where this was a good call.

A wee jem. Love the technology, and everything looked very clean. I'm very happy with our take out and definitely will be back. Great staff with good service. 👍 My only wish would be for a homemade sauce with the agedashi tofu. The dish was excellent otherwise.

This isn’t a proper restaurant—it’s more like a small, poorly run food court.

Food quality: 1/5. We ordered the pork tonkatsu and the Red Dragon roll. The tonkatsu was awful—the batter was falling off, the pork was tough and had a strange smell, and even the rice it came with was cold. The Red Dragon roll was overwhelmed with gochujang flavor, making it impossible to taste anything else.

Ambience and service: When we walked in, the place felt like a ghost town—no host, no staff in sight. Apparently, they recently switched to a self-service kiosk system. You have to place your order, seat yourself, and then the kiosk even asks for a tip despite there being zero customer service. This is not a restaurant experience—it’s just a glorified food stall.

Wait time: It took 30 minutes for our food to come out, and we only ordered two items. There were maybe two open menu in dining area at the time, so the delay made no sense.

Staff presence: There seemed to be some employees around, but none greeted us or interacted with customers. The whole vibe was off and unwelcoming.
