I’m honestly not sure why this café has such high ratings (perhaps it's known for their coffee and cinnamon buns)— our experience was far from impressive. We went for lunch based on the reviews and left very disappointed. The sandwiches were overpriced, dry, and stale with barely any mayo or mustard. The sausage roll had to be heated by us in the microwave next to the meat cooler, and there were no condiments available. The café itself is quite small, with only a few tables, and there were no diet drink options available — disappointing for someone like me who is diabetic.
This place could have great potential if they improved the food quality, added more variety, and focused on customer experience. Heating up my own sausage roll isn’t what I expect when dining out.
On one sausage roll, two sandwiches and one pop it was $29... And I didn't even want to eat the sandwich

Pastry was good however there wasn’t much for options. No Cinnamon buns. The espresso was disappointing. Ordered two lattes and both tasted more or less like steamed milk. Even with 3 shots of Espresso in a 16 oz I found it terribly weak.
Thank you to the young man on Thanksgiving day for the delicious cinnamon bun 😋

I’ve always loved the Cinnamon Bear Café and stop there every time I pass through the Crowsnest Pass. It’s usually a great little café with friendly staff and tasty baked goods.
Unfortunately, today’s visit was really disappointing. I ordered a flat white, but what I got tasted more like a bad latte — way too hot, no proper microfoam, and missing that smooth, velvety espresso flavor a flat white should have. For reference, a real flat white should be a balance of rich espresso and silky, steamed milk — not scalding or foamy.
They were also almost out of baked goods, and while the two young girls working were friendly and helpful, it was obvious they haven’t had proper espresso training.
Sad to say, this was not the usual Cinnamon Bear experience I’ve come to expect. I really hope it was just an off day, because I’d love to keep making it a regular stop.

Edit from previous visit. Everything is still great but sad to say the cinnamon buns seem to have gotten smaller since last visit.

Popped in here for the first time as a recommendation. We came around 4pm and there was nothing behind the glass counters. There were 3 staff in there cleaning and probably preparing to close. Not one person said hi so we left.
We can back two days later first thing in the morning, not a ton of options behind the glass. Lots of cinnamon buns, rice crispy squares, small chocolate danishes and butter tarts. The girl was very friendly. We ordered one black coffee, a steamer and a latte with one cinnamon bun. Came to $19. The cinnamon bun was great 10/10, it was more like a super soft bun with cinnamon coating, not too sweet. Icing is an extra $2 if you want it. The latte was not good, it was one shot of espresso and it mostly tasted like steam milk. Probably wouldn’t be back unless I had a bad craving for a cinnamon bun.

A real disappointment. No options for white or whole wheat nor raisins nor icing. Told about 5 minutes Had to wait over 30 What I got was as cinnamon crusted biscuit not a cinnamon bun. NOT AS DESCRIBED BY FRIENDS WHO VISITED

Used to look forward to coming here when in the crows nest pass, but we stopped in today and had cinnamon bun that was hard and crusty, and half of it tasted burnt. Very dissatisfied and won’t be coming back

Stopped here years ago and had the best cinnamon bun ever. This trip stopped again in the hopes of getting one again. First stop they were about to close early and had no buns. Next morning went again and there wasn't any. We were told 6 minutes but it was 30 minutes. The buns were terrible! Hard, crusty lumps that were partially burned. Apparently there was a change of ownership and it is nownot worth the stop. Also in the morning they sold us day old buns but when we were there the day before they said they were sold out. Very disappointing!!
