Family owned restaurant that took special care in cooking their food. Was often asked if I needed my coffee to be refilled which shows how greatly attentive the owners are. They’re also super friendly and have such happy energy. Breakfast tasted homemade and helped kill time before we had to head back to the customs building between Montana and Coutts. A great place for both food and rest.

I’m preparing to write a few words to express my gratitude and heartfelt wishes for this lovely, caring little café.
On October 23rd, my husband and I went to the Calgary border to take care of some paperwork. We passed by Hills of Home Café and BNB, and although we couldn’t finish our tasks that day because we arrived late, we returned the next day. While waiting for my husband at the café, I unfortunately began to feel unwell due to my period. Joanne Person, who works at the café, noticed that I was in pain and continuously checked on me, asking if I was okay. When she learned I wasn’t feeling well, she offered several times to go home to get me some medicine. In that moment, I couldn’t hold back my tears. Being in a foreign country, dealing with frustrating tasks and physical discomfort, I was so touched by the genuine care and comfort offered by a stranger. I thanked her and assured her I would be fine soon, not wanting to trouble her further. Each time she passed by, she’d check on me, gently encouraging me not to feel too anxious.
Caroly also showed such kindness; after learning that I wasn’t feeling well, she gave me some feminine products and brought me hot water, comforting me and telling me not to cry. These two warm-hearted ladies were the first to make me feel such incredible warmth since I arrived in Canada. I truly want to tell them: thank you. Thank you both for giving a homesick girl from China the kindest embrace and heartfelt comfort.
I sincerely wish every kind person at Hills of Home Café and BNB good health and all the best. Thank you for everything.
