Best pecan pie I’ve ever had!! My husband and I recently moved to the neighborhood located near old grouches! One of our neighbours from our previous neighborhood across town had gifted us a gift certificate for a pie since he really enjoys the pie here! We called ahead and got a pecan pie made to order for the following week & it was the absolute best pie I’ve ever had, I plan to call in the near future to try and order a couple more as I can’t get enough !! My husband and I look forward to going on a lunch date here as well after the upcoming holidays to try some of the other menu options. 10/10 !! (plus the most wonderful service & warm welcome to the neighbourhood when we told them we had just moved near by)
Nice lil place great food
This is literally a hidden gem in Drumheller
It's like Mom's home cooking - it was amazing!
There is tons to look at while you wait for the freshest most delicious food ever - we got bacon cheeseburgers with fries and gravy.
Cannot wait to make this a regular spot

After reading the reviews, we 4 adults, 2 children) decided to try this place out. We arrived, hungry. The tablecloth was not wiped clean. The waitress assured us everything was home made. There were no complaints about the burgers, the fries were good. The chicken burgers … one had standard chicken fingers, the other had 3 standard chicken nuggets. Certainly not home made, all buns were store bought. The cheese fingers were cheese bread, again not homemade. Certainly not very clean, and flies were enjoying the place. Service was very slow!
Best little place eat. The food is great. You gotta try the borsh. They are friendly and like to make sure you are happy with you meal. Plus there's music Friday night. A definite must stop in.

I came here on a 1000 km solo bicycle trip from Fort Saskatchewan to Drumheller to Banff and home again. I search out home cooked meals and the small town experience of my childhood. I found it here. I even took a 10 minute catnip in the comfy recliner while they prepared my cabbage rolls and perogies. Had a nice chat with the owner when she came to ask about my travels. I hope to return in October for another visit.

Smells of old cigarette smoke! Hundreds of things on the walls. Fox news on high volume. At least six wasps inside. We left after entering cause our kids complained of the smell.
Grouch burger with everything was amazing. Came from Sask, knew we were passing through, and after all of the awesome reviews we had to try. Rustic, friendly, and amazing food. Seriously the burgers awesome and the home cooked fries are 2nd to none. Pie was homemade frsh and delicious. Had apple and black berry.

Damn good value! Highly recommend seems to be where the locals go too
Loved this place. Very reasonable prices. GREAT food. We had chicken burgers, chicken strips, burgers and fries. The fries were great, fresh cut, yummy. We had regular and well done. Both tasted fresh.

We loved The Old Grouch! The prices were great, our family of 3 at for $36, which is less than we would have spent at A&W. The burgers were the best burgers we have had in years, the fries are the chonky ones that go great with vinegar.
We sat outside and they had a little play kitchen that my 5 year old had a blast using. The dining tables are an eclectic collection of homey hodge podge bits. They are celebrating their 38th year in business, same owner, family run business.
Parking: Lots of space to park
Kid-friendliness: Super accommodating towards my 5 year old, he loved the play kitchen. No kids menu
Wheelchair accessibility: Big ramp out front
