Sourdough Sandwich was delicious. Strangely good and simple. Baked goods and coffee also outstanding. Super fair pricing and no tips.

Had the Carrot Cake and Vanilla Strip.

The Vanilla Strip - Was very well presented a very good photo worthy desert. Both the vanilla cream and jam that were in the sandwich were quite good and not overly sugary, just the right balance. Would approach it with a fork cause eating it by hand made quite the mess and squished the contents put the sides.

The Careot Cake - Very goes cream cheese icing that carried the cake itself. The spiced cake portion was more subtle than I like, but that's personal preference.

Staff was very nice and thoughtful, laying my cake paper toward the Strip so as not to have them come together and mix.

I got a selection of things and everything was delicious, including my drink. It’s a lovely space and the aroma gets you excited about it what’s on offer before you even get to the displays. Just driving through and would highly recommend this gem.

Very friendly and service was top notch. Finally got to try their taco soup. WOW that’s how good it was. Could make a meal out of the soup. Also had there ham sandwich which was also very tasty. Lots of good bakery treats. Had the vanilla slice. Lots of different fresh made breads. Food was freshly prepared and fast. Well worth the stop if you’re heading through town or visiting Main Street.

Exceptional Customer Service! Every counter server approaches each and every customer with a bright-eyed, wide SMILE! That is the tastiest feature of this beautiful, homey, traditional bakery! Thank you, thank you, for caring about each and every one of us, and caring about every delicacy that you bake for us, as if you are cooking in our own home kitchen! Congratulations on achieving new heights in fashioning a truly Parisian perfection, your tasty flaky SUMPTUOUS butterhorn is a masterpiece!! Keep creating such delicacies for us and we will keep swarming over to your Homestead! Yours truly, the Butterhorn Guy

Best stop-over for coffee and snacks on the way from Calgary to Letbridge. The baking is amazing. The white sandwich bread makes the best toast and grilled cheese.

Absolutely everything is made from scratch. Not common in today's convenient culture. You can taste the real butter in all their pastries. Well worth the stop, especially if you're driving through and don't want fast food. They have a large assortment of specialty coffees to go with your pastry. And take a few loaves of artisan bread to eat at home! Well worth the stop.

So delicious! We tried cinnamon buns, cookies, muffins, and croissants so far and loved them all. Next time, I'm going for a saskatoon pie. If your roadtrip plans don't include Ft Macleod, change your plans because this bakery is worth the detour!

I’ve been going to this bakery for a while, over the summer and fall, the last time I went I noticed the staff is very cold and unfriendly. I attributed it every time to maybe it’s their culture to be a bit more reserved, but just recently have seen the countless accusations of racism. As a POC this was so disappointing. I wish I would have never given them a single cent.

I discovered this bakery last year. The almonds croissants were amazing and prompted me to stop in there whenever I passed.
However, on the last couple of visits, it's become apparent that the Homestead bakery has succumbed to 'shrinkflation'.
The baked goods have shrunk by at least 20% and there's less filling in the almond croissants and less chocolate in the pain au chocolate.
The girl at the checkout even agreed they were smaller now, but didn't know why!
Of course, the price has remained the same and those were relatively expensive as it was, but I considered it worth it.
However, the product now being inferior, it is overpriced.
So sadly, I won't be visiting again.

This place is a great example of why we always try to find local cafes when on a road trip. The whole place smelled amazing when we walked in. Great sandwiches on house made bread made for a great, quick lunch. Sooooo much better than a fast food, heartburn special. Staff were super friendly, and service was fast. Be sure to stock up on pastries while you're there, too. Double chocolate flourless cookies were AMAZING! My only regret is that we aren't spending more time in the area. I'd go back over and over if I could!!
