My favorite thing from Johnny's is for sure the War Wonton Soup (If you get a large, prepare to take some home. It's huge!) If you're looking for a brand new Chinese restaurant, this isn't the place for you. What makes this place SO special is the owners, the charm that their historical building brings, and all the stories it holds. Even Kevin Costner and Diane Lane filmed in here for the movie Let Him Go!

This was the worst food I’ve ever eaten. We got ginger beef, chicken balls, shrimp, and dry ribs and they were all terrible. The rice was soggy and non edible.

This was perhaps the worst restaurant meal in my entire life. DO NOT BELIEVE ANY GOOD REVIEW. I doubt my dog would even eat the combo Chinese meal I had. Salt water wonton soup. Unidentifiable strings of fried meat that could have literally been anything or nothing but we supposed to be ginger beef. Fried rice that was mushy but also had hard bits like it was undercooked. "Ribs" that were so overcooked is guess they reheated them 10x before they landed on my plate. Shameful. And whoever told these folks they can cook was lying.
100% inedible

I gave this place 3 stars for the following reasons:
Service 5/5
Amazing owners who run the store, who are very kind and talkative. The service is quite fast as well!
Food 3/5
The restaurant serves Chinese-Western fusion dishes, and personally I found the food to be quite normal. Of course, the dishes were alright, but to compare the quality I would say the taste is similar to Chinese buffet dishes that you will often find in Canada. Personally, I would have appreciated more seasoning and flavour (such as spice) in most of the dishes, as well as more variety on the menu.
Interior 4/5
I enjoyed the vintage and retro interior of the store, as it really fit in with the rest of the shops along the street. The interior is spacious and welcoming, and the seats are quite comfortable. It can accommodate large groups.
Pleasant atmosphere and great food !
