The Venue by Ken’s Catering

For my sisters wedding, they made potatoes and chicken on cream based after she told them she was lactose intolerant.
Secondly they attempted to flash boil perogies, which will not cook raw dough. After the mishap they chose to take no ownership and blamed everyone else including the venue.
Thirdly less people showed up for the wedding and they did not have enough plates and had to use paper plates supplied by someone else.

They also did not have coffee or tea during dessert.
Lack of care and ownership to the mistakes was very disappointing. I would hesitate to use them for a wedding.

Ken's Catering catered my wedding August 2nd (last month) and the food was spectacular; all my guests (young and old) were raving about how good the food was and how beautiful the presentation was. We had ordered a charcuterie tray for 50 and a number of their cold appetizers and everything was wonderful.

Ken’s Catering catered my August 3rd wedding, and the food was FANTASTIC! I got many many compliments and comments talking about how great the catering was, and they weren’t wrong. The meal was delicious, and everything was done wonderfully. The sandwiches for the late night snack were also great. I would definitely recommend using Ken’s Catering for your events

5-STARS!!! A PERFECT EXPERIENCE!!! We had Ken's Catering support Mom and Dad's 50th Anniversary with their Ultimate Buffet for 75 people, and it was perfect. The food arrived on time and was hot & ready to serve, despite a 40 minute drive to our party. We opted to set up the buffet ourselves (no servers required), so Ken and Kelsey made sure all of the food was in proper serving trays, bowls and plates, and also included all of the serving utensils for each dish. The food was impeccable - the herb and lemon roasted chicken was the star of the show - nearly everyone raved about how good it was, went back for more, and asked where they could get it themselves. We all highly recommend Ken's Catering in Fort Saskatchewan - check them out, they offer so many options to meet your specific needs and are very easy to work with.

Went for the Mother's Day Prime Rib buffet and we both left disappointed. The prime rib itself was good, but even the rarest pieces were a little too overcooked for my liking. The quality of the meat itself was excellent. My martini was also excellent.

Everything else, including the service, left a lot to be desired. There were no forks left at the buffet, so my husband had to chase after a staff member and let them know that he needed a fork. He went to sit at our table as he waited for his fork but all they did is refill the buffet, and never brought him one. By the time he did retrieve a fork, all our food, except the fried chicken, was cold.

The fried chicken was cooked beautifully, but was cheapened with a spice that tastes very similar to cheap chinese food (maybe MSG?). This same flavour was also found on the vegetables, where the carrots were still hard. The yorkshire pudding... if you can even call what they served that, were flat and tasted like eggs. They are usually my favourite part of a meal, but I couldn't even eat the two that I took.

Lastly, we booked a 6pm reservation, and were seated at 6:15pm, which does not bother me. What upsets me, was by the time I made it to the dessert table just before 7pm, there was no fruit left. I asked if they would be re-stocking it, to be told that there was no more. The buffet was allegedly open until 9pm, so how was there no fruit left by 7pm...

Overall, I would not visit a Prime Rib Buffet at The Venue again.

We cannot express enough gratitude to Ken's Catering for saving our wedding day! From the moment we talked with Ken and Kelsey, their customer service was impeccable. They and their team went above and beyond to accommodate us, ensuring every detail was perfect. And let's talk about the food - it was beyond delicious! Our guests are still raving about that fried chicken! Thank you for turning our wedding into an unforgettable experience and making sure we had the wedding of our dreams.

Gluten Free Options availableWe had their Valentine's Dinner. As a Celiac, I'm used to a limited selection. I had THREE different potato options. Many mains were safe, and there were TWO gluten-free dessert options. Everything was clearly marked, and I felt safe with the buffet. Will go back for sure, especially for the Dill Potato Salad. It was so good I had to have a second serving. I have ZERO tummy issues after that meal.

Ken and Kelsey are wonderful people. I had hired Ken's Catering services for a 2 day work training. They were super easy to communicate with, fantastic prices, and a wide range of menu options! And due to extreme cold weather we had to cancel the training, therfore cancel the catering. Kelsey was kind and understanding! Support this business! We will use them for future catering services.

We used Ken’s Catering for our wedding at the Foundry Room in the Fort. Kelsey was so great to communicate with via email and answered all of our questions! We loved being able to attend a complementary tasting a few months before the wedding to choose what we wanted to serve. The food was delicious and they were so accommodating to our guests who had dietary restrictions! I would recommend them :)
