What a great first experience at this quaint little diner in High River (aka Hudson for Heartland fans) Alberta. The food selection was a great balance of healthy (extensive salad menu!) and indulgent (homemade ice cream and pies). I enjoyed a chickpea salad that was chock full of flavor and a generous portion size, followed by a big slice of Saskatoon Berry Pie with ice cream. The service was warm, friendly and efficient. Overall this was an excellent meal and I would come again...
Been coming here for years. Today was so crazy. Not enough staff for number of customers. Apparently 3 called in sick. Long weekend.....hummm sick? Doubt it.
We had to wait 15 to get a menu then 50 min to get 2 sandwiches with salad.
This never happened when Herbert owned Evelyn's. I guess when your staff are young kids you can't expect reliability.
