The King George Hotel constructed in 1910 still stands! Renovated in 1942 into a two-storey Hotel which now operates as a Reasturant (Patti’s Place), Pub, & liquor store. Amazing homemade meals! When you come to eat bring your appetite. Or if homemade pie and coffee is all you need they have that too!
Stopped for breakfast on my way to Irma, great coffee, a 3/4" thick slab of ham with my eggs, hash browns and rye toast, all cooked to perfection! And I got to join the repartee with the table of knowledge (the men), and overheard the conversation at the table of wisdom (the women). A great breakfast for $12 including coffee, I was very impressed.
We stopped in here today for a mid afternoon bite. Really decent prices. We opted for the 6 pc chicken and fries. Plenty for the two of us with leftover chicken too. Home made fries and decent gravy too! Great service and the owner came out and chatted with us. The best part was that I spotted Apple Fritters on the white board. 4@$5. These are made in house too. My expectations were exceeded, even though they came from the freezer. We have a new place to stop now on Hwy14
