Since it's open my husband and I have often ordered sushi from Tokyo Avenue. Tonight was the first night we felt that our sushi wasn't up to the normal standards they've set. We often order the Innisfail Roll but something was very different about it despite it containing all the ingredients.
Tokyo Avenue is one of those few moments in your life where a restaurant exceeds your expectations so much that you wonder if you dreamt it. This is the best Japanese restaurant in Alberta.
Hidden gem: very divey look, Japanese taste
I came for Tonkatsu and left convinced I'd just eaten in Tokyo. the pork was perfectly crisp on the outside, juicy and tender outside, with that distinct flavor you only find in authentic Japanese kitchens. Friendly place. You're not here for the ambiance; you're here for the shockingly good food that transports you thousands of miles without a plane ticket.
