It's hard to leave a 4 star review when 1/2 the food was good and the other half not. But I will based starts on all the meals we have had. We have gone to the Funky Monkey 3x now. We have had excellent food, until last night (Jan 15). First time we both had the steak sandwich (their special), so good! My steak was done right. The second time, we both had their BLTs. Can't really mess those up, but the service was great and the food. Last night, we went for my birthday supper. We both had the steak special. My husband's was perfect at medium rare and I always ask for well done. Yes! I like my cow dead! As soon as I tried cutting it, I knew it was rare. Caught the attention of the server and she took it back to the kitchen. No word of a lie...my steak came back in 2 minutes. The cut I had made into the meat was browned up but still rare for the last half. It doesn't take a genius to know that when you send my steak back to me in 2 minutes that you still haven't cooked it to well done. 1" steak is gonna take longer. I told the server to just take it and don't return it. She had already removed this item from our bill, so that was comped and fixed. We will go back again and try it one time. My husband said it was because it was a new cook. That doesn't make me feel any better either.

The service was great. The food was below standard.. December 27 2023 had 4 people at sitting steak sandwich was a very cheap cut, gristle and tough for 18.00$ .Done with this place 3 rd time your out was hoping for better ..None of the options below were not on menu.

Food was good, staff were friendly. Had wings and soup which were tasty. I wanted a quick lunch, but it took a bit long for the food to come, 25 minutes, so I could not try any desserts. It's a bit deserted in the upstairs dining room for lunch time of 12:30 ish.

Disappointed and waste of moneyLooking forward to trying this restaurant to see if we liked it as much as their other three. Sorely disappointed. Food that didn’t come that was ordered, asked for things not on the plate and added for 2/3 meals. Meals didn’t come with the veggies that were told were in dish. Missing salt and flavour to the Caesar. If you like boring and bland and waste of money, then head there. Will stick with the other 3 restaurants they own. Much more taster.

Second time trying this place.. first time was before Covid and I had the Tom yum laska and it was great and my husband really enjoyed his burger! This time around I was so excited to yet again try one of Chef Pete Sok’s menu. We tried mini corn dogs , salad rolls, funky monkey burger and pad Thai. Mini corn dog deliciousness! Crispy and yummy! But the ranch dressing served with the veggies tasted old. Salad rolls underwhelming for sure. No Thai basil .. cucumber or any other veggies. Bland. My husband burgers and fries were great! But my pad Thai.. oh my.. everything on the place was white 😑 zero veggies besides the bean sprouts and the one slice of lemon . For 20$ I would expect much.. MUCH more. Barely tasted like anything really. Good thing I asked for extra sriracha because at least it tasted like something after I drenched it with it after taking a few bites. Rice noodles are cheap, chicken is cheap , bean sprouts definitely very cheap and shrimp I can get a bag of them for 5.99$ .. so I still don’t understand which this was 20$. Don’t even bother with the Asian dishes I guess they are dropping the ball on those ones . Too bad

Went out for date night, I ordered the steak sandwich well done it came out rare, We sent it back and we shared my husbands dinner while the kitchen was remaking my dinner. To my surprise the server is back with in minutes with the same dirty plate we sent back ketchup included and with the steak along with the piece I had cut off possibly been dipped in the deep fryer with the extra crispy fries ? I was disgusted. Im thinking Health code violation. We won’t be back
