I love the new combination dinner plates that you can choose and when I get them, they’re always fresh and delicious. It is my go to takeout place for sure at Christmas we ordered and considering how insanely busy they were I was thankful that it was only a half an hour late. lol kudos to the staff

Believe it or not this was my first time to Modern Chinese. They accommodated a large group of us easily. We opted for the buffet. Decent selection with the classics like chicken balls and ginger beef. Staff were all very friendly, the restaurant and bathrooms were clean. Had ice cream for dessert. Thanks for dinner!

I hate to say this, but this is the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. We had chicken fried rice, pineapple chicken balls, dry roasted pork ribs and deep fried shrimp.
We had to throw out the chicken as it was undercooked and tasted sour. The pork ribs didn't taste like pork and the oil they were fried in was old and had gone rancid. The rice and shrimp were greasy and tasteless. Honestly, this was a HORRIBLE meal for our New Year day.
Normally I order thru Ciao Mein on the west side but I don't know if they were closed Jan 1st or whether there were just too many call, but I was unable to get an answer. Ciao Mein has the best Chinese food in Lethbridge. Always fresh tasting and good size portions.
Sorry Modern Chinese, but you are the worst and you will never get my business again.

Ordered 2 days in advance before Christmas Eve get a phone call at original time of pick up that the wait would be an extra hour. Ok so we adjusted to accommodate. Show up an hour later just to wait another hour and a half and still no food. Hear a bus boy keep running the boss down saying he took on extra orders even after last year was a flop. So because of the owners greed I am leaving with no food. Disgusting.

Never seen such a poor display of greed. Christmas Eve the staff left up front to fend off angry customers. Why angry customers you ask? Because the food was delayed over 2hrs. Disgusting

They use old meat. We have ordered from Modern Chinese twice and both times, the chicken was either old or badly/dangerously stored. It smells and tastes old, like a much used, bacteria filled dishrag. We were not even able to eat the chicken. Will be avoiding at all costs!
