Another hometown restaurant that I've long neglected to review! We've come for years to enjoy burritos, enchiladas, tacos, flautas with yummy beans and rice and their homemade salsas and salad dressings. Now Julio has outdone himself by adding birria tacos so I had to get off my butt to add a review. Flavourful beef, crunchy taco, crisp-melted cheese and consommé for dipping - they were even better than the ones I had in Mexico. I really appreciate how this team constantly works to make a good restaurant even better and look forward to future visits.

Delicious Mexican food. I was here on a Saturday so luckily was able to have the tacos Al pastor which were delicious and the closest in Canada that I've had to the street food tacos I got in California

This place is THE BEST. Each meal I have there is better than the last. If you’re in Lethbridge you must eat here. Fresh, homemade, authentic Mexican food. Don’t forget to get the churros!!

Regular customer, cannot get enough of the food. Everything is completely fresh and flavoured on a wide menu selection that includes gluten and dairy free options. They never miss and manage to hit it out of the park every time.

Tangy Taquitos, friendly folks and upbeat mexicali atmosphere...portions were decent...not large...tip option for self serve...don't appreciate that...but I'll likely be back

I don’t know what is wrong with me for not doing this years ago, I apologize Julio! This is my favourite restaurant by a long shot. Now, I am by no means a super cultured food critic but I know what tastes good and I know what good service is. Mexican food happens to be one of my favourites and I have eaten and even tried cooking lots of it over the years. Many places are very good but I have yet to find one that comes close on flavour of food and the variety of amazing salsas.
I’ve been eating there for years and when we moved to Calgary 5 years back, it sounds silly, but on the list of cons was not being able to eat at cafe verde. (This might be a bit messed up but when we lived in Lethbridge, it got to the point that when I would leave work, my iPhone would give me the travel time to cafe verde instead of my actual house :D )
Honestly if I could give Cafe Verde 100 stars, I would. Julio is amazing along with the whole staff.
I have yet to eat anything that is bad and I’ve tried most of the menu. If I had to pick favourites, it would be the Tacos al Pastor and Holy Tacos.
Taquera, Puebla chipotle, pineapple habernero, and macha salsas are great.
