Smitty's Restaurant & Lounge - Lethbridge Mayor Magrath

I visited this restaurant a couple of years ago, and while the food was decent back then, my recent experience left a lot to be desired. When we sat down, there was salt on the seat, which I had to brush off before settling in. The waitress was friendly, but unfortunately, she never checked in on how we were enjoying our meal.

The food itself was disappointing. My toast was burnt black around the edges, yet soggy and limp in the middle. The shredded hash browns had no flavour and were, again, limp. The omelette was subpar at best. To top it off, my coffee cup had a chemical smell, like bleach or cleaner, though the coffee itself was okay.

For the price, I expected much better quality. There are definitely other places nearby where you could get a more satisfying meal for the same amount of money. Overall, it was a letdown, and I’m not sure I’d return anytime soon.

My boyfriend and I come here quite often (atleast mini twice a week) the milkshakes are amazing. The servers are one of our favourite reasons we come back, friendly, funny and go above and beyond. My daughter calls it the goldfish place and is the only restaurant we can take her to.

Service was amazing but the food was lacking. Edible but had Almost no flavor. And the mini donuts tasted like pure grease no other flavor, had one and had to bin the rest

Service was par, was given two small glasses of water with lip marks on it. Ask the lady if coffee was refillable, was only served refill at the end of meal 😑. Then we requested another set of water but was ignored by the male receptionist who was just standing in front of the til avoiding eye contact. Management should treat their staff better i guess, because that will reflect on how they treat their customers.

I recommend casino breakfast, better food and service with affordable prices.

If I could give this place a zero I would. Service was horrible, the servers stand there like slobs and roll their eyes at customers. When you finally get your food they throw it at you like they are doing you a favour. Plus food comes out cold.. im assuming because they are busy standing at the back gossiping. Get some training ladies or don't be in the service industry. Good luck.

For starters, the service was incredibly slow. Our four kids drinks came well after ours.
Anyone with kids knows how much fun that is…We both ordered the quesadillas. According to the menu, it says a tortilla filled with chicken, cheese etc with a side for 18.99. What you actually get is half a tortilla and a side, unlike the Smitty’s on the West side (it’s a full tortilla and fries). When we asked about it we were told you can get a full quesadilla with no fries or a half quesadilla with fries for that price ( this is not indicated on the menu though). We asked for a full quesadilla, so she brought us another. Rather than charging us for a side of fries, they charged us another 18.99. So our meals cost 30.00 each. They had hardly any chicken and were very undercooked. Disappointed in the service, the quality of the food and the price (it was just under $100 for a couple of quesadillas and four kids meals). *Do yourself a favour and PASS on this restaurant.*

The food there isn’t bad. I just stopped in with my boyfriend to grab breakfast. The servers there seem nice, but overall the service wasn’t knock your socks off great. I’d rather go to a different restaurant to grab breakfast than here.

I wasn't impressed with the breakfast. Food was plain. And deep fried bacon isn't my favorite. But the service and atmosphere was amazing.

Staff was fine, nice enough and decent service.

However the food was just genuinely unpallatable. Turkey dinner ordered was just deli meat, no real turkey, with bland almost cardboard gravy. Everything tasted like paper. Fries were basically unsalted, grilled cheese for kids at the table was just cheese whiz between toast. Mashed potatoes were flavorless. Caesar salad was okay.

It's not insanely expensive so you get what you pay for, but for a few dollars more per meal you could visit a restaurant with significantly better food.
