My very first impression was the atmosphere!! What a delight!! Staff very friendly & quick to welcome you. I have breakfast almost every day & it is always as I asked for it. I’m quite picky so it’s nice to see the owner only to happy to make your meal enjoyable.

I read an article recently that said the new owners bought this place with no restaurant experience, and honestly, you can tell. When they first took over, they told me the food and recipes were all the same as before, even the frozen pies. If that’s true, then I don’t understand why the food has gotten so bad. It’s all frozen food, but somehow the fries taste different every time, the chicken is either greasy and stale or so overcooked it’s like chewing wood. I’ve even had salads and wraps with mouldy vegetables: once with peppers, another time with slimy mushrooms. That shouldn’t happen anywhere. I tried to be patient and give them a chance, but it’s been more than six months and things just keep getting worse. Between the health inspection results, the staff turnover, and what people around are saying, it’s pretty clear this place has gone downhill fast.

Our family ordered a couple BLT’s, a hot hamburger dinner and the burger special. The food was piping hot and flavourful. The hospitality was friendly and welcoming as well. Worth the little drive from Lacombe for dinner when you don’t feel like cooking. 😋

I order from here when I don’t feel like cooking and still want a home made meal. I’ve always gotten large portions, especially the poutines, I can split that into two or three meals for myself. The new owners have been great too and brought some nice little changes while still keeping the same home-made style.

Me and my wife decided to give this place another go after our first couple of meals we’re not great. Undercooked and tiny portions. We thought we would give them something easy to make for us. 2 poutines. Well each poutine had about 10 French fries that were cold on the inside still, a very small amount of cheese that wouldn’t even melt because the fries and gravy are so cold. Absolutely disappointing both poutines went straight to the bin.

My friend and I love Clarks. We go there at least once a month just for their lunch special because it's always a soup with sandwich or fries or salad and $9.95 so it's an excellent deal and we love the staff.

We saw the ad for Clarks country kitchen on Facebook so drove the 30 min to Mirror to check it out! We were not disappointed. The food and staff are great. The atmosphere is rather plain and simple ...but it does give a small town restaurant feel that I can get behind. We will go again for sure ! I had the hot turkey ..only thing missing was cranberry sauce, but the lemon pie made up for it! Lol I don't know how they manage the great food with their low prices!!

We saw the sign for Maes kitchen while on a long day of driving. Decided to pop in to give it a go. What a perfect place to stop for a bite to eat! Would recommend stopping in. Great food and staff were so lovely! We’ll be back next time we are through :)

Sept 31/2024 Roast Beef special today The meal came with choice of 2 different soups, or a garden salad. My choice, the garden salad was fantastic and the roast beef dinner was awesome!!! Absolutely enjoyed a relaxed, friendly dinner.

We weren't sure what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. The burgers are big and so good. The turkey sandwich is made with real turkey. And the homemade soup was so delicious. Like chef boyardee on steroids, she said, and she was so right. There are multiple kinds of delicious baked goods and many kinds of pie. Even the coffee is great. We will be back. The kids loved it, and so did we.
