The salmon and sauce was excellent. Because we are all vintage the gnocchi was a bit heavy although very tasty. I would have rather a small potto and some vegetables.

I love The Heartland cafe, but mostly for the ambience. My last two visits , the meals were disappointing. In addition, there is insufficient staff so trying to get the service person's attention is difficult. The meals are costly so Heartland should hire more support. I always enjoy the beet salad and my friend's grilled salmon looked delicious. I had the pasta last time and it was very plain. This time I tried the veggie burger and it was dry and not very flavourful.

4th time here to this lovely spot in Okotoks. The food quality is always exceptional although the prices are a bit high. The ambiance and Christmas decor is beautiful and warm and inviting. They always seem to struggle with their gift card system (3rd time using a gift card purchased there) so maybe they will improve on that? Server Kitty was pretty good but maybe a little rusty after being off for 4 months but no lack of friendliness absolutely. There is a male server (commutes from Calgary) who has been there for years and he is the best of the best ! I did not realize you can request a specific server on your reservation if they are working.

It's hard to accurately describe this wonderful place without sounding over the top. We love Heartland Café! You have to see how they decorated it for the festive season! The service was 10/10 as it always is, the food was great exceptional (try the Chef tasting menu !) and the Old Fashioned I had was top shelf. This place is a hidden gem, and getting a reso is a gift to yourself. By far, it's our favorite place for a special night out! Thank you again HLC for another memorable evening!
