Hubby and I along with my teenage son went on Feb 13. Hun had the Rib-eye, I had the steak sandwich and my son had the fish &chips for mains but we had the Dip Duo and mussels for appetizers. Most of the food was amazing especially the house salad and the steak sandwich (which was just a good if not better than hubby's rib-eye). On the other hand, service was apathetic, fish batter was horrible and my son's cheesecake plate was full of greasy prints. He ordered another and it was forgiven.

Though the food is by far the best food I have had, that's not what keeps me going back. It's the service and the atmosphere.We are often walk in and are greeted by name, like you're seeing a friend you haven't seen for awhile. It's such an inviting feeling. And the staff are just as wonderful, they're kind, they don't rush you, and great with children. We have a daughter with special needs who is considered non-verbal, the staff acknowledge her. They ask her what she wants, they wave to her if she waves at them when passing by, they give her high fives. Not only does it make her happy, but it gives her so much independence. I am so thankful for people like this and to have a place to go where we can be comfortable.P.s. my son says it's the best bacon cheese burger he's ever had (he's 9 lol).

Quick delivery. A fork and knife would be nice especially requesting them specifically. No napkins either. Ate my steak like a caveman but at least it was savagely good. Charged me a buck for a squirt of HP with my $50 steak sandwich. I went to cancel the HP I requested after being told a sauce already came with the steak. But the guy said it was no problem to get me some HP too. Would have been nice to be notified of the charge.

During my recent visit to Board'n'Barrel on December 1st, my overall experience left much to be desired. Although the crispy brussels sprouts appetizer was a highlight, the evening quickly took a turn for the worse.Upon our arrival, we were promptly seated, and the appetizer arrived quickly. The crispy brussels sprouts were delicious and well-prepared. However, as we were enjoying our starter, our entrees were served, leaving little room on the table for all the dishes. This timing issue was a significant inconvenience that disrupted the flow of the meal.Unfortunately, the mishaps did not end there. As our entrees were being placed on the crowded table, the server accidentally tipped my plate of fish and chips, resulting in oily french fries and tartar sauce spilling onto my shirt. Although the server apologized and promised to replace the sauce and fries, I was left waiting for approximately five minutes without any assistance in cleaning myself up. Eventually, a new server appeared and offered me a wet rag to take to the bathroom. When I expressed my concerns about the dirty shirt, the offer to speak with the manager was made. However, the manager seemed dismissive of my embarrassment and negative experience. Though he offered to cover the cleaning bill, no further gesture of goodwill or discount on the meal was extended, which left me feeling unsatisfied.In conclusion, my visit to Board'n'Barrel was marred by poor timing, an unfortunate accident resulting in a stained shirt, and an unsympathetic response from the manager.Unfortunately, these negative experiences have left me with little desire to return. The manager's treatment of the situation was so disappointing as I had other lovely meals here.

Drove here tonight a hour away for the prime rib and seafood was very disappointing the pics used to advertise this event were not even close to what they put on and ran out of food and was definitely not what they were portraying it to be. I am saying don't post pics of something it is not the pics are what brought us there to be disappointed
From the appetizer all the way to dessert the food was fantastic. Service was great. A totally enjoyable evening. Best restaurant in the peace country!

This restaurant is a shining jewel in Peace river. The hosts and hostesses are warm and inviting service is excellent. I’ve been spending a lot of time in the area for work so I have tried nearly every menu item and enjoyed them all and from their Asian stir fry to their steaks. One of the stand out items for me was the flat bread pizzas so tasty with a fantastic light flavourful crust you just have to try.

Can’t beat Board N Barrel in Peace River!The Beet Salad here is hands down my favourite dish now. I’ve also tried a double burger, a flatbread, and the wings. All very delicious. A reliable restaurant with amazing tastes!
