Been coming here whenever I'm in penhold for the last few years, the owners are very nice, all the food that I have tried is amazing, and the coffee is really good as well, highly recommend.
Very family friendly place :) love that they have indoor and outdoor seating. Food is solid good bang for your buck, except the cheesecake which is a little pricey for a small piece but it's tasty and homemade so pretty worth it. If you're craving good, simple, home cooked soup/sandwich/desserts this is your penhold stop!
We had a lovely breakfast for 3 adults, 1 baby and 1 pre teen. Service, food and choices for both are all good.
Kid-friendliness: Has for younger kids a play area of play at own risk. Nice clean toys. Of course supervision of own child is required but nice safe space for little ones. Not massive space but that's not needed in a ma & pa shop.
