I used to work at the pelican hotel so did aunts and family members before me and throughout the years the food has never tasted so great since the 1950s til the present day because the food always will be the best after all it's the Pelican Hotel restaurant!!

I heard about Pelican Restaurant from someone raving about it at a hotel in nearby Grassland and the reviews online confirmed what I was told. Months later, I convinced a coworker we should check it out. ... And I'm glad we did! The food was amazing, pretty much as good as my primary Chinese restaurant of choice in Edmonton. Unfortunately, our only complaint was the service; the "server" seated us, took our orders, brought the food, but otherwise seemed indifferent about his job, sitting behind the counter playing games or listening to music (he had at least one earbud) or doing whatever on an Alienware laptop. Even with that, though, I won't hesitate to eat there again, even from further away (e.g. Lac La Biche), and my coworker has said the same.

Been twice. Same meal. Food is consistent.Guy behind counter is consistent as well - unfortunately it’s consistently miserable.A little gratitude for peoples patronage goes along way. Try it pal. ????♀️

The food is delicious. Everything is home made and it’s absolutely tasty and wonderful. The portions are big and filling. The burgers are good. Nice, quiet and clean restaurant. Highly recommend it
Decent food, prices are reasonable with what you get, good portion, for Western Chinese food I gave an 8 out of 10, but I still prefer traditional Chinese food

Back in 1974/1975 my dad owned this hotel. We lived just up the street and I used to wander over there in the afternoons and enjoy a plate of the yummiest krinkle-cut french fries with ketchup. The school girls would come into the diner after school and pinch my cheeks and share my fries. Simpler times!
