After a long busy day I thought I would treat myself to a meal from this restaurant. I ordered a smash burger with fries and asked for extra gravy. In a few minutes my take out order was handed to me. When I got home I realized why it was so quick. The fries were cold and had been cooked earlier and just reheated. They were so dry they broke like match sticks. I thought if I put gravy on them they might soften up but when I opened the gravy there was about two tablespoons of gravy that was ice cold and congealed. It literally just plopped out like jello. The burger was no better. It was warm but definitely over cooked and very dry. I called to complain and spoke with a manager who clearly sounded like she did not believe a word I said. She said she was the one who handed me my order. She offered to refund me for my meal. After a trip back the next day a different lady approached me and when I said why I was there she returned with a cash refund. I thanked her for the return and she asked what was wrong with the order. I repeated what I originally told the manager. I got the same response. Disbelief and was told “that’s strange” we served many smash burgers last night and no one complained. Talk about insulting. Needless to say I would never return or suggest to anyone else to eat there. A bad meal can happen, (although it was a terrible meal) but being made to feel that I lied to get a refund was beyond insulting.

Our first time here and wasn’t impressed. It’s pretty cool place, I loved those designs with doors and windows around, but menu and food wasn’t great. I wanted to get salmon risotto and they were out, instead I got kale chicken Caesar and I didn’t really like it. Chicken was way too dry, tiny portion of salad and lots of croutons. Wouldn’t order again. My friend ordered Sirracha Chicken Mac and cheese and it was decent, but it was cold. He got Diet Coke for drink and there wasn’t even one re-fill, 4$ for tiny glass. Menu was full of meat and burgers, so if you have food restrictions, I wouldn’t choose this place, decent place just not for us

Good food and atmosphere still, I enjoyed it, especially for the price point. But I would lay out a cautionary tale, it lost some of the luster and vibe I felt in the original spot years ago. It's tough keeping the vibe alive as a restaurant matures, and this one is by no means bad or disappointing, it's just not as cool as it was originally.

Great food and great service. Allowed me to modify my order to accommodate my Keto lifestyle. The steak and the salad were both high quality. The Trivial Pursuit cards on the table would have been a nice touch to facilitate social interaction within a group, but I was traveling alone, thus dining alone.
I do have one small nitpick with the tagline "Fresh-Simple-Eats" however. The menu does not actually consist of simple food. Most of it is quite unique. While that makes it interesting, and often very good, it isn't simple. Simple is what you would find at the average truck stop diner. While I love truck stop diners, Cilantro and Chive is much higher end than that. This is just me being overly pedantic about their, slogan, however, so don't let it deter you from dining here.

We were passing through red deer and thought we would stop for a nice supper. Nothing but disappointment. My husband's chicken sandwich bun came so burnt that he had to send it back. By the time it was remade we were all done eating... my ravioli came with onions no mention in the menu and the sauce was tasteless. We have been waiting a long time to try this restaurant and should have went else where.
The food here is great, however super disappointed when my 10 year old is not permitted to order off the kids menu (it's strictly for 8 and under). My 10 year old doesn't have a large enough appetite for an adult menu item and there are limited options for kids this age who fall in between. Will look for family friendly options moving forward.

If you want to try the worst place to eat lunch or dinner, go to Cilantro and Chive - Red Deer Location. We visited this location on Saturday, hoping to get a great lunch meal, but it turned out to be a disaster. We ordered three dishes, and all three of them were shitty in both taste and presentation. The cost of each dish was too high, and the service could have been better. We should get a refund for our money because it ruined our entire day with our worst experience. If there is any option for 0 star, i would choose that option or negative star.
Vegetarian options: Worst vegetarian meal i have ever tried in my lifetime.
