The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Red Deer

I took one my employees here last week. Ordered 2 steaks and asked for peppers and onion on top. The waitress seemed annoyed a put out at this request and told me she will see what the kitchen says. She returned and told me there would be an upcharge for that, that seemed kind of ridiculous for peppers and onions but I said okay. When the bill arrived it was an extra $9 EACH. For peppers and onion? That’s crazy, spent $150 for dinner and will not be returning.

Went last night with family for a Sunday night dinner.
Was really busy but had reservations and was seated promptly. Service was so great, friendly and attentive. Drinks were instantly served and so was the bread and the appetizers we ordered. Meal wasn't too long after that.
Salmon was my dish, excellent as always. Everyone else had steak...from a baseball to the lobster/Crab Oscar that was a special. Delish and plates were left empty. No complaints and as always will come back.
One of the better restaurants in central alberta.

The KEGs food is always good, and it's our go-to restaurant. However, this time I was disappointed. A restaurant of this caliber should have real lime and lemon juice for cocktails. They didn't. I instead ordered a whiskey sour which was NOT in any way sour. My steak was gristly. The Calgary KEGs are nicer, with better food. They did however, offer Billy Miner Pie for our anniversary which was nice. Not sure if I'll go back.

A truly wonderful dining experience! Everything was top notch. The hosts were welcoming and professional. The kitchen serves a perfectly tender steak you could cut with a fork. Our waiter Andrew articulated a flawless presentation of menu options with impeccable timing on service throughout the course of the meal. It was the perfect dining experience.

10/10 would enter meat coma again.
I had been having a rough go getting a good meal HAD been. The steak I had in Sylvan lake the day prior to my visit to the Keg was literally unseasoned. No salt no pepper nothing. The keg here made up for the last couple meals I'd had it was perfectly cooked, tender, seasoned to perfection, and a damn big cut of beef! The last couple bites were the nice marble part it was so good I shared the last couple pieces with my friends that were dining with me and they all agreed it was an amazing steak. the steak was so good I made sure to sit back and savor each bite. Its been over a week now and I still think about the steak. Hell, my mouth is watering now thinking about it. I made sure to send my compliments to the kitchen staff and luckily caught them just before they were leaving for the night.

what a fabulous place!! the food was excellent my waitress was an absolute sweetheart and attentive checking frequently to see i had my drinks etc and the atmosphere is very romantic yet comfortable
