Delicious- the food is unexpectedly delicious
I came for the Italian, stayed for the bolognese ★★★★★
I've been told that when in Rome, you do as the Romans do. But what do you do when you're in Rocky Mountain House, and you're at an Italian-Korean fusion restaurant? Apparently, you eat the most delicious and confusing meal of your life. And you give it five stars.
I'll admit, my initial thought was that this place was some sort of existential crisis in restaurant form. Italian and Korean? What kind of chaotic good is that? But I'm a risk-taker (I once chose the mystery flavour of lollipop), so I went for it. I ordered the beef bolognese and the dumplings, because I like my food to have a geographical identity crisis as well.
This isn't just bolognese. It's a hug in a bowl, a taste of nonna's kitchen (even though I'm pretty sure a Korean family runs this place, which is frankly a delightful paradox). The beef is so tender, the sauce so rich and flavourful, that for a brief, beautiful moment, all my worldly troubles faded away. My student loan debt? Gone. That awkward thing I said to a stranger three years ago? Erased.
The portion size was so generous I'm now a contender for a power-lifting competition. I initially felt guilty for eating so much, but then I remembered that flavour this good is a blessing, and who am I to deny a blessing? If you're looking for a sign to treat yourself, this is it. Don't walk, run. And maybe bring a friend to help you carry your new stomach full of joy.
The service was so attentive, I felt like I was being watched by a team of highly-trained, exceptionally friendly spies. They anticipated my every need—more water, more napkins, more existential-crisis-comfort-food—without me even having to ask.
So, if you ever find yourself in Rocky Mountain House wondering what to do with your life, go to Cucina. You'll leave full, satisfied, and with a newfound appreciation for the beautiful madness that is Italian-Korean fusion.

My server was Alyssa and she was incredibly sweet and attentive. It was a very cozy and intimate setting that would be perfect for a date night.
I ordered the Osam Bulgogi- tender pork belly and more in a spicy and sweet sauce. An incredibly delicious dish that paired perfectly with the slightly sticky rice. Flavours as well as each ingredient were well-balanced. Dish portion was very generous. I just wish it came with slightly more rice to sop up the divine sauce!
The price is a bit higher but is more than worth it for the high quality and large portion. Easily one of the best Korean dishes I have ever eaten.
I'll be sad to leave Rocky Mountain House knowing I'll be leaving this gem of a restaurant behind.

The food was simply amazing! I had the seafood medley the Alfredo Sauce. It was rich, sumptuous and very flavourful. The wait ress was also amazing and we will be going back although we live some distance away in Calgary.

Are you kidding me? This place is a total gem! I would move to Rockie Mountain House just to eat here every day. The pasta was out of this world, and the Korean dishes hit straight home. I’ve never been this happy after a meal in a long time. Absolutely coming back!

Read the reviews, and was excited to try this place when we were coming through. Its fairly small, like 12 -15 tables with 2 servers, and it was busy which should be a good sign right?Service was very very very slow, it took almost 20 minutes just to order a drink. We ordered our appies at the same time, as our drinks and the appies came out before the drinks. It should be a cocktail before food, but not here. The kitchen was on the ball, but the server wasn't. Then it took another 30 minutes for the server to come back and take the main course order. Again the kitchen had the food out quickly, but as it turns out, the appitizers were better than the main course so we should have left it at that. Last but not least it took another 30 minutes to get our bill after we asked for it. Pretty expensive for what I would call mediocre food with less than medicore service at best. Don't waste your money! At 100 bucks a person without having dessert you would hope it would be better. I definately will not be back.

Well had fish and chips and they deep fried both items too much. Very crunchy and hard to swallow.

I thought it was pretty expensive, it was great food.i had the salmon with a beet liquid used for designing the plate. Very good, but I had to ask what it was. I couldn't place the taste. We were a pretty big group and the service was quite good. Definitely recommend.

Lovely restaurant that exceeded my dining expectations while traveling through town. It was great to see some Korean food options outside of a large metropolitan center. They also were very accommodating of our children and of allergies. Another local restaurant refused service due to allergies, so it was a relief. My children very much enjoyed the fish and chips and the spaghetti. I ate the beef bulgogi and the flavour was great, similar to what I've had at Korean specialty restaurants. However I would advise that the portions are extremely generous and despite being ravenously hungry I couldn't come close to finishing. I would recommend the chef reduce this portion size or offer a small and large option for this dish. Maybe just serve with rice and omit the thin noodles (it's a bit of a busy dish), it's just too much food for one average person. I was hoping to try the dessert menu but I'm far too full for that Today.
Definitely check this place out if you are visiting Rocky Mountain House and want something that isn't a boring big chain restaurant.
