Cakes are moist, flavourful and prepared on time, so for that I’m giving 4 stars. However, I have an issue regarding recipe consistency with my custom orders. Several years ago they offered a Nanaimo bar cake as one of their summer specials. My family fell in love with it, so each year on my birthday, I have been ordering this as a custom cake, and each time it is made different. Year 2: it was made exactly like the original. Year 3: missing chocolate ganache drizzle and no chocolate/coconut crumble between the cake layers. Year 4: no coconut/chocolate crumble in between the cake layers but instead thrown on the top of the cake, cake not soaked in syrup and it had kinder bueno and maltesers on top (which made NO sense). Year 5: missing chocolate ganache drizzle, it had white icing in place of yellow and it had chunks of Nanaimo bar ontop. Instead of the chocolate/coconut crumble being between layers, the centre of the cake was cored out and the crumble was poured in the very centre of the cake (the crumble also included large chunks of pecans for some reason?) The cake always tastes good - but it never tastes like the first time we ordered, and often not like ‘Nanaimo bar’. If you’re going to offer a limited time cake - but allow for custom requests to re-order it, please follow the same recipe each and every time. I went with a different cake supplier this year for this reason. Your cakes are incredible, it’s unfortunate that this is a consistent issue I have had.
